Firefight update hasn't fixed the worst problems

It’s awesome that they’ve rolled out an update already and I greatly appreciate that, but there are still 3 major rounds that are totally unfair:

  • Round 5 on Stormbreak where you need to fight two Legendary Wardens and a Mythic Warden inside a home base. I was surprised to see the biggest issue in the mode went untouched by this update. It’s simply far too difficult to take down 3 beefed up Wardens with hardly any room for vehicles, and the vehicles that actually fit in there will often have very difficult shots because if the Wardens take cover, you can’t get ANY angle on them until they decide to come out of cover. The middle Mythic Warden is almost impossible to shoot with a vehicle. I have won this round about 3 times total since WZFF came out, and I’ve played a lot of matches. They were all near-incompletions that ran it down to the wire. Also, the final Mythic Warden on Escape from ARC only has 2 Legendary Knights protecting him, and he’s wide out in the open for vehicles and aircraft to always have a shot, so I’m thinking these maps’ final waves should be swapped. - Defend the Core objectives on Urban give the Prometheans way too much of an advantage because they’re wide out in the open, able to be fired upon from just about anywhere. The core on the street especially. Sometimes they spawn shooting at it. How is that fair? - Defending the Core (round 2) on Escape from ARC should be placed at the other tunnel (the one closer to the armory you just defended in round 1). Placing it at the further tunnel makes it so if you don’t anticipate this round and start hiking it up there preemptively, the enemies will be shooting at it long before you reach it.I’m very pleased that they addressed the Soldier Commando (3 Mantises) wave on Darkstar by moving it up a round, but that was only one of the least balanced waves. The three points listed above are still the worst issues with WZFF.

I noticed that the worst issues weren’t addressed as well. My guess is that they will be rolling out this smaller update just to rearrange some rounds for now and they will make more significant, round altering, changes in the future in an official update or something. I personally am waiting for them to fix req leveling, Uneven difficulties among final rounds, etc.

Most of the rounds where you have to defend something from Prometheans need to redone. It’s absurd to have to defend an Armory, the Spire, or a Garage when Knights spawn inside of them.

Oh that would have annoyed me.

Those are horrible too. “Defend the Forerunner Core” By the time we all get there it’s usually down to 75% health.

I think it isn’t fixed because they don’t want it fixed.

Remember boss kill stealing? Never got any attention but a small and I mean SMALL video and patch that arguably did nothing.

Or when the round starts with defend the core and core is already at 50% when you and your team just arrive there.

Wow, hannibal mantis and warden on round 1…

Gotta love theater mode…

FFS, it’s a hotfix, there aren’t gonna be major changes until the next scheduled update.

The issue is that they seem to be neglecting talking about the bigger issues, which could be for a number of reasons.

But I suppose we just need to give them some time, it would be nice however to see them address the bigger problems before they send oUT the nextra patch.

The problem is with the AI themselves and the way the objectives are structured.

The Prometheans especially have an uncanny aimbot mode and ridiculous range where boltshots and lightrifle fire can still reach a banshee halfway across the map.
Most of the time, the problem lies where 343 thinks difficulty comes from dog piling unlimited number of enemies onto an objective. Combine this with their stupid Legendary stats and aim hacks and you can’t even reach the objective on the first round.
Add to that the increasing death timer and the necessity to use REQ’s, Warzone Firefight becomes another grind mode, not an enjoyable horde mode. It just makes me wish that I could see classic firefight into Halo 5.

tl;dr Don’t make it easy, keep it challenging. But don’t make it ridiculously stupid either.

Yes, I was expecting to see this changed too. I was very surprised it wasn’t.

Everyone was complaining about the spawn times and spawn locations. What did they do about it… nothing!

Unbelievable they can’t fix a simple timer in a hotfix :confused:

PS: how about introducing a map voting system. I would never pick Urban anymore. Most vehicle unfriendly map ever!

Seriously, I like some of the fixes, but balancing is still a pain. Just got off a game on Apex 7 where it was Round 4 and we had to kill four Legendary Hunters. Okay, not a problem. Oh wait, there were Banshees spawning instakill fuel rods, Knights with Incinerator canons and of course the Hunters themselves. Getting VERY sick of the -Yoink- challenge 343 thinks is genuine challenge.

Gave it another try after the patch, but no matter what #nofun.
