Firefight Survival

In the pursuit of making a more competitive, harder and generally more fun Firefight that is still suitable for the general population, I’ve thrown my hat into the ring. I’ve had this gametype for quite some time now, but only recently have I gotten around to finishing it.

I’ve had quite a few rounds playing it now, though only with one other person as I don’t have anyone else to test it with. Its been through a few small revisions to make it work a bit better, but I thinks gotten to the point where I can no longer test it or improve it merely by myself.

So I present to you Firefight Survival.

General Settings:

Time Limit - Unlimited (On average it takes 30min for two people to do a Heroic set)
No Wave or Set Limit
7 Lives to Start - 15 Extra Lives Max
Ammo Boxes and Grenades ON
Weapon Pickup ON
Dropships ON
Weapon Drops ON
Hazards ON

Recommended Difficulty:

1 player - Normal
2 Players - Normal or Heroic, depending on skill
3 players - Heroic
4 players - Heroic, Legendary if its a team of BAMFs

Each wave is designed to progressively tougher than the last, as are the rounds. While the initial waves will not stress you too much, generally by the 3/4 wave particularly in Round 2 and 3 you’ll find the enemies will be a lot harder to deal with. Your Bonus Wave is classic ODST “Murder as Many Grunts as Possible in 2:00” with all skulls on.

Please download and do you best to test, play and provide feedback if possible.

Thank you.

Are you intending this for matchmaking or just as a fun custom gametype? I think at the least you need a time limit for an MM gametype otherwise a griefer, or exceptionally good players, could keep the game going for a very long time, leading to a lot of quits since players simply don’t know how much longer it’s going to be.

Other than that I’ve queued it up and will try it when I get the chance.

While making this I was always thinking along the lines of ODST or other “Survive as long as possible” gametypes, but I suppose for the sake of Matchmaking a two Set or 60 minute time limit would be in order.

So did you ever get a chance to test it?

Imagine the Cr additions to a 60 minutes game type lol! Im sure people would all be inheritors in no time.

Still fun and doable yes, but far more challenging.

I highly doubt that its more challenging the then the firefighters challenge (seeing as only 2 people have finished it)

I meant far more challenging than FF Matchmaking or most of the gametypes we currently have, not the “break your will to live” FF gametypes.

That was the grunts nuts fault

By the way…could someone who has actually played the gametype post some feedback? Its been near a month people…

Its fun
I dont see any problems with it so far.
but My ODST team mates keep stealing my kills :frowning:

I made a gametype like this. Just called “Survival”. Although the farthest people usuallly make on normal is wave three. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll download this and try it.
