Firefight/ Spartan Ops Halo 5

I’ve posted this topic in the past in the Halo 4 forum, but since Halo 5 is closing in and the beta is weeks away I thought I’d express my idea for the future of Halo 5…

So most of the Halo community enjoyed Firefight in previous Halo titles, it fit really well in the Halo sandbox, adding skulls for variety and difficulty, and some heavy team work when it got harder. Spartan Ops was a very ambitious idea but it fell flat in certain areas. There were infinite respawns, repetitive levels and mechanics. But, it was enjoyable on coop with 4 friends on legendary, especially the vehicle levels as well.

So 343, I propose a hybrid idea for Halo 5 and the future. Take many of the elements that have been added and fuse them together. Create Spartan Ops missions with some more variety, ie stealth missions, flying missions, vehicle combat, infantry missions, etc. But add in Personal Ordinance for the players, rewarding them for their killing sprees against AI enemies, and taking away the unbalanced PVP use of it in Matchmaking. Add in a life count pool, so people are more careful, add in skull modifiers and the ability to toggle them, while simultaneously throwing in achievements that go along with them. All this mixed in with weekly or monthly content sounds like a blast to me, and really amplifies the coop experience in Halo. Finally, add Firefight missions at the end of each weekly mission, it could serve as a culminating end to each set of missions where you and your team must defend a point against the waves of enemies, having POD’s at your disposal and vehicles as well. This would blend very nicely together and would also unite the community because everyone will be getting what they enjoy in the coop experience.

Also a forgeable firefight option would be pretty cool, but that may be too hard to create.

What are your thoughts everyone? Feel free to add in.

Bump!

I don’t like the idea of combining the two, I just think 343i should make spartan ops in halo 5, and firefight. but as completely separate things. Players can customize firefight, but cannot customize spartan Ops. And it was supposed to be that way. Spartan ops is not a replacement by any means. It is a completely different thing all together! spartan ops was supposed to have a storyline, and many objectives. But firefight was supposed to be customizable and has one objective: Kill wave, after wave. And each wave should have customization, like in Reach. I think they should keep Spartan Ops, but also bring back Firefight as a DIFFERENT thing!

I just hope Spartan Ops in Halo 5 will not overplay the same maps. I see halo 4’s spartan Ops as a “test” to something of a Halo firefight/ Spartan Ops. Staying away from one main goal in firefight which is to survive for as long as possible (and achievements  ) but keep waves of enemies and taking the great side stories explaining or adding more to the campaign just like Halo 4 spartan Ops did, using more immense game play by not replaying the same map over and over. Next Gen consoles should be able to do that. (SORRY BUT THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING HALO WAYPOINT FORUMS AND I AM JUST STATING MY OPINION BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO HERE SO PLEASE HELP OUT A NOOB LIKE ME
