Firefight Release Gestimation

So Warzone Firefight for Halo 5 has been confirmed! As a rather anti-social Req Point lover, this is wonderful news. That said, its reveal was rather odd.

First reveal: The teaser in the “Hammer Storm” launch trailer.
Second reveal: A poster showing current and future releases.

Both these items blatantly confirm that Firefight is happening this year, but does say exactly when. So lets look at some details:
Video: The firefight “beta” shown looked rather well done. It showed functioning cinematic and AI scripting. New enemy colors/team calls were displayed. Over all it looked pretty close to done.
Poster: Firefight was shown as the last of what is presumably a chronological schedule. That said, it missed something all the other DLCs had: A fancy title. This personally leads me to believe that Firefight is somewhat exempt from the implied chronological rule. Perhaps 343i just wanted to make it clear that it is coming out.

This is all speculation, but I assume its coming out sooner rather than later.

“Among the vast array of new modes coming to Halo over the next several months is one that our fans have repeatedly asked us to deliver – Firefight. The new mode, called ‘Warzone Firefight’, will bring PvE to Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer and let players battle together against common foes (and truly show off their custom Spartans to boot!) That’s all we’ll say for now, but trust us, we can’t wait to tell you more about Warzone Firefight in the coming months.”

Going by that and the fact it was shown as its own independent tile on the DLC release calendar/teaser image, I’d say it’s in mid-production and likely won’t be released until May at the earliest. I hope it comes sooner though as I’m getting tired of regular Warzone due to losing almost every match I go into no matter how hard I try to win. But I digress.

Zero chance of getting it in March, highly unlikely in April, a solid possibility in May, and high likelihood of getting it in June, I’d say.

Expect a June release. Prime time for their final free dlc.
