So I made a post a while ago not explaining some things in a well enough manner that show how abusrb Halo 5 can be. I love Halo, I’ve played it since I was 4, and I want to to surpass all expectations, but 343 has (obviously) made some mistakes. I don’t want to bash it here, but I want to lay some things down that are, again, absurb.
I may another post doing PvP or Campaign but for now, just Warzone.
Specifically, just the AI in warzone. I haven’t had a problem with regular PVP in warzone, just the PVE aspect. (I’m not alone on this)
-So WZFF is mediocre at best, and like Warzone Assault and regular Warzone, its heavily centered around requisition packs. Of course this alone isnt all that bad of a thing, but the req accumulation time is sooooooo slow. In Warzone Assault, for every player killed, ALL players in the team get a tiny amount of gain in the req bar, but none in WZFF.
- The perfect aim of the AI. Spawning in a Air Vehicle or even just being on the ground is becoming frustrating, as most of the time its near IMPOSSIBLE to out maneuver the enemies shots. Like the Needler or Boltshot, for example, why do these shoot so fast that they seem like actual bullets? The TTK kill for the weapons themselves wouldn’t be so bad, if the AI accuracy was lowered just a smidge. Which brings me to my next point:
-The TTK people is absolutely ridiculous, or rather, obnoxiously hard for no reason. Why do I get 3 shot by a banshee, why do light rifles kill you in 4 to 5 shots when they shoot 3 in less than a second? Why do grunts and Jackles seeme to be able to take on a Spartan? Like you’d think a augmented supersoilder in Titanium armor would be able to kill a jackle, but nope. Just get 4 shot by a plasma pistol instead. Quite simply, weapons do too much damage and should be toned back a bit.
-Respawn time, this is self explanatory. No one in ANY game should have to wait 30 seconds to respawn at any one point of the game. When I’m here getting insta-killed, I’d like to not have to wait 30 seconds to risk getting insta-killed yet again. The most respawn time should be is 15 seconds, of even that. 30 is just too long.
-AI spawn locations, and how bad their placements are. I’m sure its happened to where you are sitting in West/East Armory or the Garage and you’ve had a million crawlers and Soilders spawn in on you, not giving you any time to react. If there are enemies with 10 meters of the player, why should people get spawned in on, especially when the enemies are so overpowered? It gives them no time to react, and then have to wait through the absurd respawn time.
-AI Objective spawn, specifically defense. So yes, this is one of the most frustrating things I’ve come across. You can’t tell me to defend an objective, and have the enemies spawn INSIDE the area I’m defending. Like spawning Knights and Soilders on the 2cd floor of the Garage. Or soilders inside the armory. That’s just a flaw in the game design.
-All the enemies are bullet sponges. You can put 2 clips into a elite and just have his shield go down. You can put 2 clips into a soldier, and not even have his plating come off. Don’t even start on knights, those things are invincible. Bullets practically bounce off, and all of the bosses just eat rocket rounds. Like why. Why do all the enemies have to be bullet sponges. Its just not right.
-Multiple bugs, Act Man did a great video on many of the bugs, so I won’t get into them here, I suggest you watch it, but there are just so many bugs that need to be fixed, and why they aren’t is beyond me.
Tl;Dr - To sum it up, Warzone firefight is obnoxiously hard for little to no reason, and its just another pushing point to make you buy req packs, so you can use then fast. Its the only thing I play in Halo 5 because I love PVE in halo, but it needs some serious polishing. Its all the little things that make it hard as a whole, as well as frustrating. I didn’t talk about how 3 wardens spawn in, how enemies actual “AI” is bugged and doesn’t respond properly, how weapons are underpowered, (using nornfang on a knight and it tickles him), there’s just so much more. But these are some things I wanted to bring up.
If you read this far in, let me know what you think and if you agree/disagree with what I said.
