Firefight Matchmaking

Im going to sound like an idiot, but I am having trouble understanding how Firefight matchmaking works. I am relatively new to the Reach community, and I have beaten the Reach campaigns and enjoy the Matchmaking games, but everytime I try to play the firefight varients, I’m always playing solo and have no idea what the point is (other than killing the convenant). Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Any tips or instructions even more appreciated.

Are you going into Firefight thru the main menu or thru matchmaking? It will team you up with 3 additional players only in Matchmaking CO-OP. Hope that helps

Im right at that same juncture. Unlike you, I wasn’t brave enough to ask.

There is not a huge point to it. Firefight Arcade especially doesn’t really have a point. It is like popping bubble wrap. It is just something to do to pass the time. Firefight Limited is a bit more fun as you have a limited number of lives and have to try and survive and make it to the end. It is also an easy way to get credits and rank up.

I initialy tried to go through the Firefight menu then I tried to go through the matchmaking menu. When I select the Firefight tab then hit start matchmaking, the system tells me that “one or more of the players doesn’t have the necessary memory to continue”. Doesn’t make any sense to me as I only have halo reach on my system, and, granted my system is the cheaper 4 G system, I also have an external memory (8 G) attached. I will try what you recommended and let you know. Thanks for the tip.

I will try what you recommended tonight and hopefully can link up with you. I am on MST and usually start playing around 9 - 10 pm.

Firefight is best played with a group of friends, it’s just a good way to relax and have a good time brutally slaughtering the Covenant, over and over and over again.

Score attack is good also, especially if you are completing particular challenges.

Basically, I think Firefight is just another way to enjoy Halo: Reach, but in a less competitive form.

You know I keep trying to get in on the Firefight and I keep getting the same message, “One or more of the players lacks sufficient hard drive space to start matchmaking.”

This makes no sense to me as Reach is the only game on my console and i dont download anything else to it. I can access the other parts of Matchmaking, just not the Firefight variant.

Anyone have any ideas?

Firefight Matchmaking requires a hard drive.

Its is good pretty much for daily challenges and racking up points for purchasing armour and moving up in rank. And almost does make you feel like a GOD ha ha ha ha

You’re probably playing score attack which is only solo. Fire fight arcade is just to score points basiclly bost and limited is like odst but to hard and boring and barely people with mics. wait til anniversy there is a rumor saying that the firefight map will be the libarian fighting the flood.
