Remember how in the halo reach campaign how marines could join your fire team and follow you around. You should be able to do the same in the new firefight map installation 4! It would make the experience 10x better. Also would probably raise profits of the map pack/game to. You would go up to the marine and hold a certain button (example x) and they would join your fire team. You would be able to hold a max of 3 marines in the fire team and you would be able to see there health and name/tag. 343 please add this to the firefight map. I promise you that it will make the map way more fun and raise profits to. Thanks! 
I really wish the ODSTs on 04 were tougher. I seriously have trouble actually getting to the base before they are all killed by a fuel rod grunt.
However, I believe I remember reading (back after Defiant came out) that it was impossible to change the code for firefight maps, somehow due to the strange way they are integrated into the MM system.
Not even in the Reach camapign you can “recruit” marines. Sure, the message says that but pressing the D-Pad does not work. The marines join automatically and only scripted marines can do that. In later missions you can try to press the D-Pad in front of marines and nothing will happen. You cant even see the healt (even though the nameplates could easily work as a health indicator as well…).
I guess Bungie played around with some kind of a squad system (that would explain the photoshopped Aplha build screenshots from campaign) and later they scrapped it and what you can see in Reach now is all what remained, lol
