This is one reason I haven’t uninstalled Infinite yet. I still have hope they will add in firefight. I don’t have an interest in pvp, but I would be down to team up and do some pve with folk.
This sounds similar to Spartan Ops. I think that Spartan Ops was a good idea, just poorly made. Ideally, you’d want to be able to queue up with others/friends (similar to Destiny), or go alone (I don’t have friends). If done better than in Halo 4, it would definitely be the long term content we need.
I also would want firefight back. We have seen a small glimpse of it in the campaign, so that can be our first three maps.
Platinum Anniversary is the Halo CE paint
Yeah but the visor isn’t as glowy as the Legendary visor, that thing barely picks up any reflection while Chief’s visor in CE was clearly reflecting the brim of his helmet pretty much 24/7. Like yeah, it was still pretty bright in low lighting conditions but that was likely more of working within the graphical limitations and time limit they had.
Anywho, I just think the Vandal visor would match better personally.
Truth is we don’t know. Sadly, I am not banking on it. A trouble of the PvE sandbox is that for it to flow well, it DOES require the equipment you have in campaign.
True.
Platinum Anniversary + Vandal = Fresh off the assembly line Mark VI Gen-3
But the Legendary Visor better fits it to be frank.
Not to mention, we technically will not be able to dress as Chief as we will not have the battle damage or the Spartan Number on our chests.
But that’s fine by me.
X3 am I the only one who gets annoyed that he’s been gotten Gen 2 via nanomachines (son) and stuff then got gen 3 in that book I haven’t gotten to yet but the battle damage gets carried over?
It would be like if you ripped your pants so you got a new pair but ripped them in the same spot on purpose
The ret-con of the art style change makes no sense FR.
And they say that TECHNICALLY his armor in Halo 4 was still Gen-1, while in Halo 5 they upgraded it and made it a Gen-2 model named “Mark VI MOD”.
When really, if they wanted him to get new armor; HAVE HIM GET THE NEW ARMOR UPON MEETING UP WITH THE UNSC INFINITY AND GETTING AN UPGRADE.
You know, something akin to this, but perhaps with an armoring scene in-between?

I mean to be fair even his Mark VI in 2 was immediately scuffed in spots with bits of paint missing like someone polished the corners with sand paper, but Halo 2 is made with duct tape and staples and hopes and dreams and is awesome anyway so I can at least cut it some slack. And it’s still the only game (that I played, still haven’t played 5) where they explicitly state “This is new armor” at the start.
ALSO I WANT MY NUMBER ON MY CHEST, WHY IS THAT NOT A THING?! I mean most folks will probably just put silly stuff like 69 and 420 and 8008 but it’s still a super simple means of personalization- especially given that we can’t choose our colors so if two people have the same coating their armor there’s at least yet another detail reminding you that they’re different- since in my experience a bunch of people have been running the Mark V Zeta. Which I understand because so am I until cross core and my Reach Mark V come out.
That’s because Spartan Maria-S062 actually tested Master Chief’s MJOLNIR Mark VI in a small prequel comic.
Those paint-scuffs are from the immediate field test prior to the set of armor being shipped to Cairo Station.
Okay that’s pretty fair
Though yeah, the breastplate damage it suffered in Halo 3 shouldn’t have carried over in Halo 4 if Cortana “redesigned and repaired his armor with https://c.tenor.com/RD6nlrFN-D4AAAAC/nano-machine-son-mgr.gif” BUT somehow didn’t repair the actual battle damage.
Lazy retcons are lazy.
And Gen 3 looks like after they gave hit to John he just looked at it, though something looked off then decided to unload a clip into the breastplate before he put it on- which sounds like something an edgy 90s comic book character would do and is dumb
To be fair, he did go through operations against the Banished immediately after getting the MJOLNIR Gen-3 armor (Halo Shadows of Reach), got back to the UNSC Infinity and pretty much immediately led into the prologue of Halo Infinite; where Atriox monkey slammed Chief with the Gravity Mace.
And it resulted in a dent in literally the exact same spot. Honestly I dunno it almost feels like it could have been the setup of a running joke so I feel mixed about it.
Nah.
It was just oversight.
“Hey, we redesigned the art style for no reason.”
“Cool . . . . . . . . should we fix the dent in his armor?”
". . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . naaaaaaaaaaaaaah dude. Otherwise it doesn’t look right. "
It’s just so obnoxious, and that’s probably exactly how it went down but I hate it X3
Everyone hated it.
I mean, just look at the daily player count statistics. It took only one year to drop

I’m sure they watch statics and game population. So if you really want a Firefight mode in Infinite. Then stop playing Infinite multi-player and play the Firefight version you like. Organize groups to play it, create a Firefight Clan and bring the population up. 343 will see what to invest in. I want Firefight too.
