I didn’t mean it in the way you are saying. I’m meaning how 343 considers what are the broader audience. For example, you know what’s definitely gonna get more players interested in Halo? Nail Polish and Cookbooks.

They cannot as per their own fair use policy.
So long as fan-games do not make a profit from the game they are making, all assets are new and not ripped from the other games, and they do not use the music of previous Halo games; they are gold to go.
No lie tho- I adore my nail polish.
But also why nail polish?

At least the Nerf one made sense and was legit cool, but everything else is puzzling.

Unfortunately because Nintendo did it (I may be a Nintendo fangirl but I’ll never forget what happened with AM2R) it means there’s a precedent. And a precedent means it can happen again, at least in theory.
Yea, idk how 343 is managing their resources when they sooner push out Nail Polish and Cookbook promotions than doing a crossover event with their own TV Series.
It took a week of players bugging them on Twitter before they released any TV Series crossover items in game.

I want the Silver Team helmets, yeah the show is literal doodoo butter but those helmets are slick, WHY DIDN"T THEY GIVE THEM TO US?!

Microsoft is weeeiiiiiird.
On one hand, they care just enough about their impact on gaming history to keep stuff more or less backwards compatible and provide access to older games as well as being kinda cool sometimes.
On the other hand, well, here we are with a near infinite supply of valid complaints.

Because the Mark VI Gen-3 Armor Core isn’t out yet.
Hence why we also haven’t received Argus Gen-3, Cohort Gen-3, or Hermes Gen-3 yet.

They’d literally just have to tweak Chief’s model and BAM, done.
Because 343 never actually lets people wear Master Chief’s armor.

Halo 4 redesigned his armor from the ground up to look entirely different, but our reward for beating the Campaign on Legendary was to receive a cartoonish redesign of the classic Mark VI armor.

Halo 5 Gorbians gave us jack squat for beating the game on Legendary.

Halo Infinite’s Campaign is only 1/3rd done and hopefully we get the Mark VI Gen-3 as a reward for completing Infinite’s three story parts on Legendary. Otherwise, fans will be VERY UNHAPPY AGAIN.

I’m not opposed to not having Chief’s exact armor, iconography and all that stuff, but modest tweaks to the design would fix that problem.
Like maybe make the default gloves more reminiscent of the Halo 2 gloves, or just don’t let us use Chief’s exact helmet and just let us use the one from the Mark V [B] since it’s almost exactly right but the details on the tubing on the sides being lines instead of hexagons and the black brim as well as the more classic style visor details would keep it more than distinct enough and everybody’s happy.
Unfortunately everybody being happy doesn’t seem to be on the forecast for quite a while.
I wouldn’t be happy.

Why does 343 deny us of this fun happenstance?
Halo Reach let us dress as the Chief and have him be Noble Six in Cutscenes.
Our MP Spartan shows up in the MP Cinematics, why not let our MP Spartan BE the Chief just to have fun with it?

PLATINUM ANNIVERSARY COATING WITH THE LEGENDARY VISOR
also having brought up Sonic earlier, I can’t help but feel a touch of dejavu since Yuji Naka left- mind you even back then Sonic games were a mixed bag but you could feel the ambition behind them. They actually had a cool ship to crash and burn, and they rebuilt that ship every time to crash and burn it as many times as they could. Since he left, we get a Generations here and a Mania there but otherwise it’s a Scootypuff Jr anticlimactically driving straight into a wall- it’s familiar, sure, but not nearly the same nor as satisfying.
The difference- and the tragedy- is Sonic back then had bad games with huge ambition along with awesome games that did well. So even with the good games, it was never all sunshine and rainbows for Sonic.
But Halo started strong and only got stronger. Each game built on the last, they even made Halo 2 in a cave with a box of scraps and it was glorious anyway. Then Bungie got in bed with Activision when they left while 343 just kinda started going out of their way to change Halo into something it’s not.
Honestly that would be HYPE, I do hope it happens. But also that’s less Chief and more “Artistically Stylized Version of Chief”- which you should totally still go for, the 90s action figure vibe is strong with it.
given the lack of an roadmap, excuses of excuses, focus on pvp mp, and probably source spagetti code…
i’m not holding my hopes up. 343, like tryark, probably give 0 hecks about their pve horde mode. because it’s not monetizable and wouldn’t be worth spending money making it if only an small community were to slightly pay them back.
