If firefight is brought into Infinite should it be more like Reach firefight or Warzone firefight or a combination of both?
More like reach all the way. Firefight in Halo 5 had to many points where the action wasn’t happening. If you wanted too you could sit on one end of the map and the ai would nver come for you. In Reach you’d be hunted down. There was only brief breaks as well. I define that has a Firefight. Constant Locke in battle.
More towards the ODST/Reach style with slightly downsized maps and no airborne vehicles, but I wouldn’t mind some WZFF-style objectives on the side as long as they’re not the driving force of a wave (maybe make them worth bonus points as an incentive). The REQ system should be ditched; imo it completely changes the flow of the gameplay and turns the classic “fight till you can’t fight any longer” into “here’s some more enemies for you to mop up with your ONI Scorpion”.
I would like warzone firefight to return because of the objective and it had like this time limit but I also want the original firefight where you gain lives after each round and each round gets harder like -Yoink!- zombies in black ops. A firefight with flood for example would be sick.
A playlist for score attack in singleplayer can be useful for me
Reach style for sure. I hate the long spawn times, focus on bosses, and, worst of all, the REQ system. You can’t use any fun weapons unless you start tapping into your limited number of cards which would be better used in PvP. The list goes on and on for why H5’s is inferior, but these are the three that came to mind first.

i think reach FF, its annoying imo how it counts towards your wz stats in game.
Reaches firefight.
Halo 5s firefight was fun but the matches go on WAY too long. In addition Halo 5 doesn’t have solo firefight (score attack). That and custom games firefight is missing.
Reach firefight, no question.
Single player survival modes have always been my favorite additional content in games besides the main campaign.
I wouldn’t be against a time attack version , but I personally would prefer an O.D.S.T. Fire fight over Reach or 5.
Reach version felt either to easy or to hard , with no middle ground.
I didn’t care for 5s Fire fight at all. I don’t enjoy REQ. heavy modes , just not Halo to me.
O.D.S.T. gradually increased the difficulty which made (me at least) feel like I was progressing and getting better as we made it further and further into the fight.
That said , I would hope that it would evolve and add different areas as the fight progresses , as another poster suggested in a different forum topic of similar subject matter.

I love both - why not have both? Reach’s massively customisable spartan-centred firefight and 5’s huge objective-focused vehicle and heavy-weapon hectic firefight
If they could find a way to mash the two together I think that would be great. For example have a solo mode included and maybe it could have REQs but not everything keep it limited.
Bullet sponges are not fun. Reach customisation was. Hold on, I feel like buying a Reach copy to play Firefight again.
If a Firefight like Warzone should return, I think we should be able to hijack vehicles. I understand we can’t as to promote the REQ system, but I think it’s more fun to use the tools provided by the enemies to beat the harder bosses as opposed to just spawning something in.
Special vehicles and weapons would likely need retooled or removed for balance.
I like the current WZ FF, but these are the things that I think would make it better
- Destroyable phantoms/spirits. It’s really annoying when you have a scorpion and get killed with no option to defend yourself. - Custom FF. In halo reach I was fun to play with a sniper and infinite ammo, against elites and skirmishers, also it was a good training field. - Solo WZFF mode. halo has been designed to be a multiplayer game but sometimes playing alone is fun too. - Being able to choose the respawn base. Especially for vehicles, it’s frustrating to be respawned and get killed immediately - Weapon reloading. Many power weapons are useless like the sniper, shotgun, spnkr, etc. So most of the time I rather use a ghost or a scorpion. - Hijackable vehicles. for non-boss vehicles should be possible - Maps. The current maps were thought for warzone not for firefight. It would be good to have more variety, for example, smaller maps, without the option to spawn vehicles, or medium-sized maps without air vehicles.
Make use of the Reach firefight system. It would allow you to customize your game to its fullest, including replicating how ODST firefight worked.
Halo 5 firefight is alright if you’re looking to kill time, however it is sadly boring in the long run.
- ODST/REACH style with a little bit of horde thrown in there. Wave after wave of enemies getting increasingly harder. - Boss waves - Req system - some way to level up weapons and get vehicles for harder waves - Customizable ways to play. Some people want shorter firefight games (which doesn’t make sense to me) but if they give us the ability to make time and wave decisions we can change it on our own. - At least 5 players. I think firefight should be from 1-8, but 5 would be okay. - Able to play in custom games. Imagine making a map in forge and playing firefight in it. Endless possibilites.
