Its about time for firefight to make a comeback. It’s a gamemode that has been enjoyed by a vast majority of people in the community. Even if you didn’t play it all the time there were those few occasions for most when you and 3 other buddies spent a good few hours just having a good time in this mode. The new mechanics in Halo 5 could also help to liven up the experience into this game’s unique feature. It’s here that most of the upgraded gen2 armor abilities make sense(except for that ground pound thing). The upgraded smart-linked scopes, standard thrusters/hover and the weapon variety are in alignment for a very fun gamemode.
I loved playing in Firefight it was something that me and my friends spent hours on Firefight on Reach and then when I bought Halo 4 I was so hyped for Firefight then it was Replaced with Spartan Ops. So Halo 5 Guardians will be the best game ever if it had Firefight with new enemys so thats what I think about it.
I prefer Spartan Ops but I love Firefight. I’d like both in the next game, if possible.
Hopefully they bring it back with additions. A couple I’d like to see:
- Buyable Fortifications (Barriers, turrets, etc)- Buyable weapons- Boosts like friendly AI, and special weapons.- Objective waves
I agree. Intractable environments will be a giant step forward for firefight.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t come back in halo 5 guardians. It is one of the best modes halo ever had. Surviving against hordes of enemies…that was the only reason I played odst and reach.
In halo 5 guardians there should be customizable firefight like in reach. Have load outs and have weapons spawn in. Customize your waves would be fun to have back.
As for enemies though…there are kind of a lack of species in halo 4. But who knows. Maybe in halo 5 guardians some old species may return.
Elites…yes
Grunts…yes
Jackals…yes
Hunters…yes
Knights…yes
Crawlers…yes
Watchers…yes
Sentinels…maybe
Any new forerunner species…yes
Brutes…maybe based off of appearances in the halo escalation books but not fighting Alongside elites
Skirmishers…maybe probably no but one was in halo escalation
Drones…probably not but I really hope so. There have been no hints of them returning anytime soon.
But who knows. If war games is a simulation why can’t firefight be a simulation? Maybe we can fight older species.
I love firefight,being able to fight off hordes of covenant was so fun with a friend.Hope they bring it back with the option of the flood being enemies.

Firefight > Spartan Ops.
