No. Even with full shields, getting boarded and kicked out the vehicle by an enemy will kill you, even if you were not shot at prior to being boarded. The enemy melee damage is increased when boarding vehicles just like in Halo 4 and Halo: Reach campaigns on Legendary.
And plus, he was talking about Warzone Firefight of the A.I., not the players.
??? I’m so confused, there are some who say you die and then some who say you don’t. I’ve never really paid attention to people getting hijacked by an A.I. But I’ve seen it at least once where an elite hijacked my clan buddies on apex 7.
Still unfair, it’s easier for them ti get the hijack than for players.
Their hijack distance is longer.
And they don’t have to press x or see the option.

I don’t think elites kill every time.
It’s usually soldiers that insta kill.
Can confirm. Got hijacked by a lone Soldier in Warzone Firefight and was killed instantly.

Elite melee damage is based on the weapon they carry. If they have a Carbine when they board you = insta-killed.
Storm Rifle/Needler/Plasma Pistol for sure probably wouldn’t kill.
Agreed. To add on this, why can’t we hijack boss vehicles? I know that would make the game too easy, but even lone enemy ghosts that aren’t the boss cannot be hijacked! At least give me the option to hop on the vehicle and attempt to beat the crap out of the AI piloting it!

That set was applied to Warzone (before firefight release) to make sure people did not have a huge advantage against other players. The massive durability of the boss vehicles like the banshee bosses and the fact that they inflict more damage than non-vehicle bosses would be too overpowered in some peoples’ perspective of gameplay. A great player that makes use of this sort of thing would be almost invincible.
As for non-boss vehicles, they cannot be boarded so that players don’t get vehicles by NOT acquiring them from the REQ station first.
Then the Mantis and Wraith bosses can’t be boarded because it would be an insta-kill by planting a grenade in those vehicles, and meleeing the vehicle while boarding does a lot of damage overtime.
To really clear this up, vehicles Uncommon or above controlled by A.I. cannot be boarded by players:
- Ghosts
- Warthogs
- Rocket Warthogs
- Mantises
- Wraiths
- Banshees
- Phaetons
- etc…

Same here it jacked my sword warthog and i hijacked it back.
it must’ve been just one shot on you, very small, then you got hijacked.
hijack frequency should really go down in WZFF. Happens too often IMO
