Firefight Guide to Victory

Firefight Guide to Victory
Firefight can be tough. As such, I’m compiling some tips, tricks, and strategies that I’ve discovered by playing. These apply to people playing solo, as well as people playing in fireteams with their friends. Since the beta came out, I’ve won about 70 or 80 matches and lost only 2 (aside from lag outs). I’ve only searched in a full team for about 15% of these. I’ve successfully used the below strategies to help my team win.

  • Call in the correct reqs. Most of the time, the correct req is a vehicle. You want to call in the req that helps your team the most. In round one, call in a scout hog and use that to splatter all of the enemies. As soon as you reach req 3, call in a ghost. Once you get to round 5, you will usually need a tank. - If you have to defend a base, splatter enemies off spawn. However, you must make sure someone is contesting the base; this is the most important thing. - When fighting the grunt goblin, use an ultra ghost. It does large amounts of damage and is maneuverable enough to avoid all of the grunt’s attacks. Simply peak out from behind a wall and continue shooting it until he releases his attacks in your direction. Then, slide back behind a wall to make him miss. Rinse and repeat. Do not use banshees; you will get one-shot out of them. - You cannot splatter and kill any knight or mantis in wraiths anymore, so don’t try it. - For round 5 on Apex 7 where you have to kill the grunt and then 2 hunters, use ultra ghosts to kill the goblin, and then use a tank to kill the hunters. If you’re playing solo, then see what vehicles your teammates have and call in whichever they do not have. - In round 5 on Sanctum when there are two legendary bosses and then two mythic wardens hiding at the top of a cliff, shoot the glowing orbs on the pillars (when your team is ready) to make the two wardens vulnerable and have them drop down. They will not attack or take damage until the orbs are blown up. - In round (I think) 3 of Sanctum where you have to kill the warden at the top of the temple, it’s not hard to do on foot if everyone goes up and simply shoots. Don’t waste time with trying to get vehicles up there. - If you are given a round where you have to kill a boss that is easy to kill at any time, don’t rush it. Kill all of the little ai that continues to spawn throughout the round. You and your team will get your req level up, which will make subsequent rounds easier. Don’t forget to kill the boss in the final minute. - If you’re in a vehicle that isn’t going to be very useful in a specific round, then get out and call in a better one. It’s not worth doing little to help and then dying and waiting to respawn. - If you’re going to play a round where you will need a tank, call it in as soon as you can. On maps like Apex 7, you can’t get to the action for almost a full minute after calling in a tank. Take this into account. - In round 3 of Apex 7 when the two wardens spawn, melt them with ghosts. - If you’re on round 5 and on foot, you’re probably not helping your team. An exception is if you have a Mythic Gavel. Vehicles are safer, though. - If you’re in a slow-moving vehicle like a tank, don’t sit in a place where enemies will spawn. They will often board you off spawn and kill you. - If you are playing on Urban and call in a vehicle at the armory, you will spawn in the core. If there are enemies in the core, they will probably spawn kill you and your vehicle. Instead, call in your vehicle at the garage. - Help your team by identifying holes in their strategies. If you notice everyone has a tank, don’t call in a slow-moving land vehicle. If you notice everyone is in a banshee, call in a tank. - Call in tanks. - Don’t get killed in your tank by being too aggressive. - Call in tanks. As a side note, Sanctum and ARC seem to be the easiest maps to play on.

Extra tips:
-for the wardens in the pelican spawns, use tartarus gavels or flying vehicles to lure them out or do damage when they’re hiding. You can fly above the pelican spawn on some maps such as stormbreak.
-It’s been reported that you can plasma pistol enemy phaetons, have the driver get out if it lands on the roof of the phaeton, and players can pilot the phaetons in subsequent rounds. In the beta, if you got a destroy phaeton round, you had to actually blow it up. I haven’t tested this in the final version yet.

All of these are great points. TEAM-UP and take on the bigger foes, if there are multiple bosses and you can coordinate fire on one of them at a time it goes so much better. Too many times it is one or two players per boss getting gunned down, respawning and repeating.

Very good tips penguin. So pretty much use the right tool for the right job. I’ve been playing firefight a lot since it came out. Add me penguin

I like point 11., so many people understand this.

Wait, so you’re saying that the key to taking out 5 Wardens is NOT to charge at them with a BR???

Only ones giving me trouble at the moment are when the 3 wardens are in the pelican drop points in home base. Getting line of sight on them with most of the heavy vehicles is a -Yoink-.

My brother swears that the splinter turrets are great against the Warden, so that may be a good option there. I haven’t had a chance to play firefight yet, but I think I’ll give that a try on bosses in hard to reach places.

Call in vehicles for the warden.

I haven’t had a chance to play since the update either.

Does anyone know if the ammo armor mod works with REQ turrets?

Problem is vehicles can’t get a shot off if the warden is in the Pelican drop spots.

This is the best post ever. More people need to call in REQs to win. Otherwise the team loses.

Mantis on the back ramps

All good tips.
Instead of people shouting out what they don’t like about the new game mode, this is what we should be seeing. More people throwing out strat’s and tips so that people can get better. Not complaints that things need to be ‘nerfed’.

dont play with randoms

I’ve been able to hit them with banshees, wraiths, scorpions, etc. Be patient and be careful not to get EMPed. It’s more important for you to stay alive than to die and be useless to your team for half a minute.

Tartarus Gavel works wonders as well.

Lots if tanks and a banshee, got it.
Tank beats everything!

what about like round 2 or 3 on raid of apex 7 when two warden come out what is the guide there?

the good news is the tank is my favorite vehicle and i have a lot of them.

I just updated for that.

this

For any round where the bosses spawn in the pelican drop zones in back of the core room…I take a flying vehicle (phaeton works best, wasp to a lesser extent, since both can hover, banshee if no other choice since u have to always worry about maneuvering…), now this is the tricky part to do without getting killed…fly in there, right up to those boss -Yoinks!-, and fly vertically up as fast as u can. If u survived, u’ll notice that u can get way up high and there is no roof in those rooms. U now have access to both rooms. Stay high up, play it safe, and rain death down on those fools. Just don’t do anything risky, keep your distance. You’re so high above as long as u keep dodging the few attacks that come your way, you’re good. I took out 3 of the 4 mythic hunters all by myself in a phaeton with this method and won the game in the last few seconds while the rest of my team was getting stomped on. Hit the skies, Spartan!!
