Just Rage Quit after getting Defend the Armory on Skirmish on Darkstar. Why hasn’t this issue been fix. I am demanding that someone from the 343i Development Team responds to this because it’s about time they do something about this garbage. I am sick to death of these defend objectives involving Prometheans because they will more than likely end in failure.
I’ll Start with Skirmish on Darkstar, there are 3 Defend Objectives on this map and 2 of them involve Prometheans. Defend the Armory and Defend the Generators. Defend the Armory starts with us at an immediate disadvantage because unless we are already at that Armory near the opening spawn then they will have taken 1/4 of the capture bar. It also is on Round 2 when the highest REQ level we could potentially obtain is level 4. But vehicles are useless as trying to get a vehicle in there is hard without getting swarmed impossible. Trying to clear out Soldiers is a real pain for most players as they have aim assist on. The crawlers constantly run past soldiers making it impossible to keep the aim on them. Then there is the Defend the Generators objective. Another example of poor placement. It’s in a place we can’t get vehicles in and it’s a pain to keep Prometheans out once they get in. I’m not saying this isn’t possible but in all my attempts at this objective, I’ve seen tanks brought out, the whole works but the people defending the generators get destroyed if any of them get in. I would think the back of the Fortress or one of the bases would be a better position to defend the generators.
Urban. The last thread I made, I didn’t take into account, it’s Round 2 and like on Skirmish on Darkstar, it’s really hard to get Vehicles into the Garage. And we have the same issue with Crawlers messing up the aim of anyone with Aim Assist on. And also the fact that if we don’t happen to be at the Garage which is unlikely because we always end up in the Armory after round 1 then the Prometheans will capture about 1/4 of the capture bar. Then there is defending the Core on the Hill. People are too focused on splattering and that means the Prometheans get in.
Escape from A.R.C. I’ve noticed that the Defend the Garage objective hasn’t popped up in weeks, but there is another that has a huge issue and this one is Covenant. The Defend the Cores objective has one really big annoying flaw. TOO MANY PHANTOMS. I’ve spawned a Wraith on this objective but I was unlucky enough to come out the Garage as every Phantom was showing up to drop off reinforcements, every single one of them bombarded me until I was literally one shot from blowing up. I’ve seen objectives where you’ve had Covenant spawn in using Promethean warp in technology. I think this would be a good change to how they spawn in so you can reduce the amount of Phantoms. Or you give us back the ability to shoot the turrets off the Phantoms from Halo Reach.
The other defend objective on Escape from A.R.C is surprisingly one of the few that is balanced along with the ones on March on Stormbreak.
The problem with the defend objective is that Prometheans are hard to kill and near impossible when they Swarm on a single location. To put this into an easy comparison. Fighting the Covenant is like Playing on Heroic, Fighting Prometheans is like Playing on Legendary and doing a defend objective vs. Prometheans is like Playing on Mythic.
343i, take this from someone who plays a lot of firefight, I’ve had time to think about how to beat these objectives and I think they might be pulled off if a full squad was playing. But a group of 8 Randoms is a different story. Prometheans are unbalanced compared to the Covenant, I would suggest that you either nerf Prometheans or replace all defend objectives vs Prometheans to be against the Covenant.
