How do you think Firefight should be introduced and concepted? Do you want Reach’s Arcadefight and FF Limited to return, or do you like Halo 5 Firefight? Any concept you have for Firefight. Here’s a couple of mine.
Maybe have a walkaround lobby. In the Infinity armory, weapons neatly stacked up, looking for a loadout. Customize your loadout to start each game with a specified set of weapons, or visit the armory to change it up. When you’re done, head to your pod to await drop (To find a session). Once found, it will load up, then drop you. “We are droppin’ into hell, troopers! Time to grow a pair!” You must release the door on your pod manually, then you can enjoy the firefight. While in the lobby, you are connected with up to call it 30 players. I’m just spewing BS right now, but once I actually think about it, I’ll comment.
Another concept could be Mass Firefight. In larger areas (about the size of say New Mombasa X3, maybe bigger) have a lobby of up to say 100 players and a hell of a lot of enemies. This is where Prepare To Drop could REALLY be a thing. 100 Players ready to drop. Certain missions having different introduction drops, some being a safe hit, some being rather lethal to anyone but a spartan.
Yes I know both of these ideas would probably double what storage Halo has to take up, but uh… it’s for a good cause? No? Didn’t think so.
This is a tough one for me. I liked how both Halo Reach and Halo 5 did Firefight. But I wouldn’t mind something closer to Reach’s style but with the objectives similar to Halo 5’s. Hard to say if 343 Industries would have it exactly how Halo 5 did it since it relied on the requisition system which was heavily panned by the players. I don’t see them doing a firefight as massive as having 100 players, then again there’s so much that we don’t know about the new slipspace game engine they’re using to power Halo Infinite so who knows what to expect.
I absolutely loved the opening cinematic of ODST. If they can deliver a similar experience on replayable content like firefight? Sign me up!
If you are going to be playing on a huge map, but not with as many players, you might want to coordinate where you drop together and such. Might make for interesting strategies and tactics.

EXACTLY! That’s what I was going for! I LOVED the idea of having a mass fireteam across some mega-city. Objectives would be VERY different from each squad (squads would generally be either 8 or 4, but they can be as little as 1 person) Marines, ODSTs, and Recons would also be there to help (Though most of these troops would be dead alongside civilians and/or wildlife). Coordinating drops would be a good idea too. Instead of dropping into a lobby, have like 5 minutes before drop where everyone can look over the map and see where they want to land, view other’s spots and coordinate your attacks, flank your enemies. Once drop comes, you must control your pod manually, holy crap dude! You are damn good at this!
Why not all? Large maps can be used quite comfortably as wave survival and generator defense. Bigger maps like warzone or even invasion maps if either return can be used for the H5 type. Sectioned like
Lone Wolf - Wave survival. Generator defense. Play alone or with a friend online or off. No player search.
Firefight - 4 player. Has search. Features wave survival and generator defense.
Warzone Firefight - 8 player, has standard wave survival but with more, tougher enemies. Has random objective mode where it plays like H5 firefight.
Then within those are the various gamemodes like gruntpocalpse etc etc
Just an idea
