Firefight, and REQ packs

I have seen, on numerous occasions, people saying “Firefight is just another way to get us to buy REQ packs! This is absurd!” I wish to give an alternate perspective.
Please note that while I do have a stance on the current REQ system and its balance at the time, it is not the topic of this thread.
Firefight is a new gamemode to Halo 5. It yields approximately the same reward as regular WZ. In this manner, provided that they are used wisely and efficiently, the use of REQs in each mode is equally rewarding. If 343i is trying to get us to buy as many REQ packs as possible with this new gamemode, they are doing it wrong. We get the same reward for the same use of the same number of REQs in each mode.
That is all I have to say.

On topic: I completely agree. I am getting so annoyed at all the ‘343 is greedy’ -Yoink- posts when you literally win (I think) around 20 gold packs for FREE just by playing WZFF.

Off topic: I really like your armor. What visor is that?

If people really have a problem with it “Making” them buy req packs then they don’t have to play it that often if it “makes” them buy req packs.

There’s nothing nor anyone that forces anyone to buy REQ packs. Yes, Firefight depends on REQ usages… Guess what? So does Regular Warzone.

REQ usage is part of the foundation in the flow of Warzone matches. Firefight is a part of the Warzone gamemode… Do tell me i am wrong, because you only have to turn on your console to see that i am quite right.

Firefight is against AIs, not players but you’ll need to pull some of your stuff out to win. Same goes for regular Warzone… If your entire team refused to spend REQs… you could be sure to lose the game. So is Warzone also forcing you to buy REQs then? Must be if it follows the logic of those who claims they’re forced to buy, in order to play.

Turbo ALLOWS you to spend well enough over 20 REQs per game… But you’re not exactly forced to, yet it’s another way for 343 to make money? Perhaps but they’re not threatning you to spend the REQs in anyway.

Simple pimple… You’re not forced to pay anything except Taxes.

Agreed. Whenever I see posts about ‘greed’ and how they keep shoving REQ packs down our throats… I always just chime in with " Nobody is forcing you to buy anything."
Buying REQ packs is just there for people who don’t have the time to sink into the game to earn the points that way. They are for those with limited time and a bit of cash to burn so they can feel some sense of progress. And like I said, Nobody is forcing you at gunpoint to buy anything.
Don’t like the price structure on REQ’s? Don’t spend any money on em. Simple.

I missed that in my original post, but that’s another good point. Thanks.
Also, to answer your question, I’m using the Saturnine visor.

People love to complain. I burn through a lot of reqs in firefight (not so much regular war zone as I find the DMR/battle rifle enough maybe I’ll use a power weapon or vehicle when I feel like the team is at a disadvantage) yet not once have I ever had the incentive to buy req packs using real world currency . Because every warzone match rewards you with what 2,000 req point provided you complete the match and or if you win (adding boosts then you could potentially earn yourself 8,000 req points by doing one match) that’s big, add to the fact you get daily log in rewards and warzone, warzone firefight and arena victory packs (Heck even the commendation for completing the firefight victory gets you 6 gold packs!) I’ve never once felt like I’m running out of reqs. If people were buying the req packs of their own free will then it went to providing the rest of the community with these free updates or went to the Esports prize pool. 343 certainly ain’t greedy from my perspective, post game they have done a great job, they’ve listened to the community and the multiplayer in this game is better than ever. Can there still be improvements, of course. 343 ain’t perfect but let it not be said that they don’t care about the community because they do (Halo 5 campaign misstep aside).
