Firefight 3.0 Ideas: AI teams, the Flood, glassing beam, and hopefully so much more!!!

Firefight (FF) has now become essential to Halo since ODST, It is another fun way to get the joys of campaign with the fun of multiplayer. I hope this thread gives some ideas on how to make FF even better than it is now.

  1. Team size-

4 people is good for FF but I hope FF will be able to support to 8+ people in the future.

  1. AI Teams-

This concept is having several squads of AI troops be devieded red and blue. 2 elites with AIs and 2 Spartans with AI marines. The team that kills all the AI teams AIs and end their lives first is declaired winner.

AI teams can also be changed to have any type of AI allied with your team color. (Hunters vs grunts for example).

  1. The Flood-

The Flood included in FF would be fun. as a 3rd enemy to deal with or as a solitary foe.

  1. Glassing beams-

for verseing and as an extra, covie cruiser will come and glass part of the field.

  1. Forge-able maps and spawns-

Hopefully in the next Halo, the AI compadibility with forge will be fixed to make new FF maps.

  1. AI helpers- for normal FF as an option, AI marines and ODST troopers will be dropped into the comabt zone to assist you in low numbers.

Those are a few of my ideas.

What do you guys think?

Please discuss and thank you.

I have always wanted a forgeable firefight map!!! I think that they could even work forgeable firefight into Reach, except have it under the INSANE gametype, because they can do virtually anything in the category.

I think it would be cool if you could spawn AI in a custom game.

i really like these ideas, that’d be cool to have something like the target locator but as a radio call in ODSTs to drop in from pods as reinforcements.

The flood in firefight would be really cool to change it up… i can see alot of people playing this.

hmm not sure about 8 people in a FF match against AI maybe an extra 5th person would be ok.

The glassing beams would be sick! probably focusing fire against the beam source or a target on the ship would get it to stop/back off? (most likely from some type of security protocol forerunner ship/structure?)

Since halo 4 looks like it might be dealing with forerunner tech maybe FF could include sentinels? and perhaps other forerunner enemies that we havent seen yet.

Instead of all that: Editable Firefight Maps (add/move boxes and crates, ammo, spawn and enemy spawn locations) and more controls for Hazards (Nothing but Elite Majors from Drop Pods every round.) More controls for weapon enemies wield.

I Would love to see some of those ideas. Mainly the glass beaming and the flood. I always wanted to fight a scarab or two in firefight and some huge creatures.

what about buying barriers to defend easier

Sounds great.

I support!

i say bring the ff from odst when it was all team based.
and add a couple big type of maps where you would get enemies prior to Halo: Wars…
with like parties of 8-16.

I would really like to play as Elite and fight Marines, ODST and Spartans in FF. Probably including a feature to give orders to Grunts and Jackals. Same maps, opposite spawn points.

If the Covies are involved in any way, I’d like a solid Firefight VS experience. To make it happen, I’d suggest the revamp be called Firefight Squads, pitting two Spartans controlling a squad of ODSTs and military personnel against two Elites and a squad of Covie races. I’m not saying to break the mold and turn this into a tactical shooter, but this would be a fun Campaign alternative, with AI working in a very similar way, creating an environment driven by the feeling of warfare. This could work with other races, as well, if 343i decides to bring back the Flood and make them, as well as Forerunner AI, playable.

To add, I’d enjoy the feeling of being placed in the corresponding race’s shoes. If I was an Elite, I’d like a first person entrance into the Firefight via drop pod. Similarly, I’d enjoy the same luxury with ODST drop pods. Drop offs via drop ship could also be a fun experience to mix up respawning; however, such inclusions, canonically, would probably be out of place, as Elites are now at peace with Humans. Perhaps Covies light years away where the Chief was marooned don’t yet know of their defeat and still follow the late profits’ orders. Many doors are now open, and I’d like to see 343i capitalize wherever they can.
