It would be awful. With such a large area involved it would take a very long time to eliminate the 21 of 24 enemies necessary to move on to the next wave especially with the server situation we are forced to endure here recently that boots players randomly. Why do you think this would be a plausible map for FF?

hahahaha, well. i don’t see the problem with how big the map is, the enemies come to you also so… and you can make the tower yourre defense spot. also with the server thingy, i also play a lot of system link and local play so… shouldn’t be a problem

Holdout by far, then courtyard, beachhead, glacier, corvette, outpost, and finally overlook. Waterfront sucks and as for the DLC maps I deleted the anniversary map pack to avoid getting installation 04. I left whichever one has unearthed but the map is simply too large to enjoy and thankfully doesn’t get selected very often.
The tower is far too high to be useful as your rockets would take an eternity to actually hit the ground. Perhaps with four players you could position yourselves accordingly to have the highest probability of easily rocketing the enemy spawn points but they’d probably be very spread out and this tactic wouldn’t work as well as it does on, say, beachhead for example. Sure the enemies come to whichever player has enemy priority for the game but only one group at a time - imagine how long it would take for just one wave if a few groups of enemies spawned back near the campaign start point and all four of you were at the tower waiting…

I know somebody who had MCC glitch where the game tried to put 16 players for Slayer in Halo: CE on $The Pillar of Autumn and crashed. BTB on the Pillar of Autumn would’ve been hilarious had that glitch actually worked. BTB on Campaign maps, lol XD. But yeah maps of that size just aren’t practical for Firefight.

At this point Dirty Nurse, i would pretty much play ANYTHING thats a new map! Lolol 
Gotta admit, i never really thought about being able to create my own maps for firefight. Firefight Forge, lol
Spire? Sure man. 2 players spawn up top. 2 on bottom.
If its limited gametype, reload stations up top scattered. Reload stations scattered down below.
Same with the weapon drops.
For regular heroic and kinda for limited mm firefight-
Things could get weird and cool at that height if everybody, say, picked the hologram default. Gravlift insanity. (Sword-plasma launcher)
Have a ghost, maybe a warthog or mongoose at the bottom. Maybe a banshee for your team up top per round. 5 banshees attack you per game, to help the grounded commendation.
Tie the assasination gamerscore achivement in, you’ll see noobs jumping off all the time.

Maybe make the things you have to land on top of to live from up top…what are those things called? gravlifts?! A little bigger.
You would have to make the map smaller though. Often the last enemy remaining has glitched himself into a corner, youre gonna have to run a bit to get him, so figure remove almost half the map without the spire. Maybe add 4 gravlifts at the cardinal points down below at the maps periphery so you can get up top quicker? Ehhhhh i dunno.
Could work for a generator defense type gametpe.
Sniping would be great. Uhhhh if there wasnt an insane amount of lag on reach now, but lets assume its 2012. 
Id buy new ff map packs for the old reach before id buy the mcc edition of reach.
