Fire Fight and Stances When?

So in the Season 8 Beta we got Stances for Halo CE and 3 which was really cool but when Season 8 came out there was no stances to be found, also in the beta for fire fight The Flood, Elites and Sentinel were added to fire fight but never made it to season 8 due to some issues with the promise of them being added at a later date but since then there has been no news on when the issue will be fixed and when the characters will added to the game in fire fight. Does anyone have any information about when these things are coming to the game. I get everyone is working on Infinite right now but just because infinite is the next big game I dont think MCC should just be forgotten because a lot of us still play it .

What are stances and also Centinals? I’ve never heard of either. How would either of whatever they are affect our gameplay?

Stances is a customization thing only and Centinals are Sentinels

Stances were pulled due to feedback regarding their quality and implementation in the UI, many users felt they should have started with Halo 4 since stances were already a feature of that games customization (and overall looked better than the selection made for the flight), and wanted the option to disable them when they pleased since it could make menu navigation messy post-game.

As for Flood, Sentinels, and Elites; Supposedly the plan is to launch the update alongside the release of ODST Modding Tools, but no date has been given. Speculation is that it will launch after the second Orion release in the exchange, but that would be firmly sometime in January, to possibly even early February.

Not a bad call to me given the volume of work they have to do still, as cool as it was:

  • The Flood had issues with softlocking and AI functions (carrier forms were broken in particular, and couldn’t move or detonate at all)
  • The Elites seemed good on the surface, but they were still missing the Stealth Elite ranks in the files, as well as the Spec Ops Elites not being placed in patrols with the still missing Spec Ops Grunts also in the files. They also had a few issues regarding melee detection, models, and AI functions on top (all rifle style weapons did no melee damage, all the Ultras/Spec Ops Commanders had half-jaws head, Minors and Majors would berserk and pull out swords when they were hit with a grenade, when only Spec-Ops and Ultras/Spec Ops Commanders were supposed to, etc.)

there was also some issues with the Energy Sword of all things, namely that Dare was the only one who could pick it up, and it completely broke her arm animations (they might be fixing it so it’s usable alongside the Sentinel Beam, or they might be making it so she can’t use it as well.), as well as a single unused Brute Rank (Trackers) that they might be considering restoring (Hopefully as Beam Rifle Brutes like the Ultras on Tsavo Highway, though Balanced this time so they aren’t overpowered)

I guess they pulled everyone off to help launch halo infinite. Was hoping for ODST mod tools for christmas but not sure if that’ll happen.

Everyone interested in the MCC is waiting for the Flood / Elite Fire Fight. It’ll be like a whole new experience.

Yeah, I just hope they continue to bring more and more options, like new marines to play as, our Halo 3 characters to play as, our Halo 3 skins, and new vehicle settings.

Really people gave bad feed back about the stances man I thought they were really cool I was sad they didnt implement them

I’m pretty sure sentinel’s are already in the game, but just as a customizable option in custom firefight. Flood and elites are going to come in an update in the (hopefully near) future. As far as stances, I don’t know. I think somebody else already explained what happened with stances in this thread.

What would any of those add to our gameplay experience? As far as I know, none of them actually have any impact at all whatsoever upon the outcome of whatever game we are in

Being able to play as Halo 3 Spartan/Elites as opposed to ODST’s and being able to use more extra vehicles than the hornet and AA Wraith would definitely affect gameplay.

But you didn’t actually care.

I maxxed out all FF commendations in Reach. Not once in any map did I see either of those vehicles.

That’s because I’m referring to Halo 3 ODST’s firefight, you know, the game that originally contained firefight? The one that’s firefight has been getting updated within the Master Chief Collection for the past year?
The same one the rest of this thread is referring to.

My apologies? The original post above did not refer to the original FF which we both know was in ODST.

I guess… Omega399’s post suggests it pretty hard though.

I have to admit, you threw me for a loop there mentioning Omega…he mentioned modding and that it is completely outside of my realm of knowledge.

That’s because the MCC team has been working on mod support alongside the game updates and new features.

They’ve been working on new features?? I hope those features include making the various armor pieces useful

You’re literally asking for them to break the games in a way nobody would want, nobody even liked the small amount halo 4 tried to go in that direction with it’s loadout mods.

The abomination of Halo4 is why I refuse to play any further iteration of 343’s butchering of the Halo franchise. No argument there

That is literally what your suggesting when you imply Armor is worthless and should work as it does in PUBG or something. all that would accomplish is encouraging minmaxing, and eating up a ludicrous amount precious developer time just to rework the cosmetic system into something akin to Halo 4’s loadouts when that work could be put into more significant features everyone can agree are wanted more.

As it stands, armor in Halo is equal to the actual Player Customization and not the Equipment Stats; it’s purely a cosmetic item allowing for further personalization of your Character that is quite visible to most players in game, even more so when Theatre mode and the potential future Stance features are taken into account. There literally is no better example than the backlash that was had before the visual toggle itself was implemented in full to highlight just how many players are affected by the cosmetics.
