Finished the game (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVN’T FINISHED CAMPAIGN.

So just completed the game on a full run, took around 5 hours 30 mins. Loved the graphics/artwork, loved the music/sounds, the story though I thought was lacking. It was a good campaign overall but I felt it was a bit too jam packed with lots going on without too much focus. I also felt it didn’t quite explain things that we have been told in many interviews it would.

For example why the convernant are attacking us (Has been said this would be explained in the game, however its not)
Why does the didact let the covernant live and work with him ? why doesn’t he try to compose them ?

Why is he still trying to compose humans when he has no need for an army after firing the halo array ?

Why are some prometheans blue and others orange ?

I guess the new books out next year might explain this but I think the games should really or at least explain it partially.

Very bold move with cortana at the end as well. Not sure I like it, but I guess we don’t know what the future holds so things may not seem as they are in the next game.

sorry couldn’t seem to edit my post to add this:

My post seems a bit negative when I read it back…however its not I should have included… I was extremely impressed with how the franchise has been handled. Over the past couple of years I have heard and seen people complain and worry that Bungie would no longer be making halo and that 343 worries them. I have never worried since we found out you guys were taking over.

I think you guys have done an awesome job, for your first shipped game its probably one of the best anyone has ever done (as a first shipped game). I can’t wait to see what you guys create in the future. Very exciting times for 343.

  1. It’s not the covenant it’s a rouge faction called “Storm” who still believe the forerunners to be gods
  2. The Didact fought against ancient humanity and he believes them to be unworthy of the mantle and wants to annihilate them plus the flood still exist.3. He doesn’t have any gripe with them so he uses them as tools to further his goal of annihilating humanity

Blue prometheans were under the control of the librarian while orange were under the control of the didact

Cheers for the reply, I know its a rouge faction of the cog but it doesn’t mention it in the game or at least I didn’t hear it mentioned.

The blue prometheans still attack you in game though, but the librarian cares for humans so why would they attack us ?

The promeathians were there to prevent anyone from releasing the didact and chief was being tricked into doing so.

Also if you want more of the backstory these are the books to read

Forerunner backstory
Cryptum
Primordium

Storm/Infinity/Spartan 4 backstory
Glasslands
The Thursday war.

I have read the forerunner books, it makes it seem a bit more confusing because the didact seems less hateful towards humans (both of them). I see now about the blue prometheans trying to stop anyone from releasing him. Thanks guys.
