What’d you all think? I thought it was very good but way too short. I already beat it on Legendary with a total time of 6:59.
Certain parts reminded me of Mass Effect and Star Wars. The didact sounded similar to the harbinger talking in your head. The didact’s ship heading towards Earth reminded me of a Reaper. Not to mention the last mission mission had you flying in a canal on the death star to drop a bomb in a little hole to save the day.
I really enjoyed it. would have been nice if it was longer but I never expect games like this to have super long campaigns. plus we have the weekly episodes of spartan ops.
I would say the biggest surprise was the lack of major cliff hanger.
also I don’t think we have seen the last of the Didact. there was too much build up for that to be his end.
I agree, the Didact isn’t gone. Though I suspect the Didact we faced, is. There -are- two Didacts, don’t forget. I feel like they’ll bring in th Bornstellar-Didact, who is more tolerant, for Halo 5. Like a mid-game plot revelation when he comes in to aid humanity against the /real/ ancient evil.
Something to that effect. Still, seeing the Ur-Didact… and the surprise visit by the Librarian (rather, what was left of her) made for some great cutscenes in the game!
My only gripe was the ending being too CoD-MW2-esque. Not because it’s CoD, -but- I sincerely expected to get to fight the Didact a bit like we did Tartarus. The ending fight against him would’ve been fine had you gotten to fight him a bit first.
It really got me when Cortana died. I don’t think she is dead and I’m hoping for her to come back, really really bad. But I don’t want a clone of her. I want the real Cortana.
Overall though, I found the campaign interesting and fun. I am SUPER anxious to find out what happens next.
