I would understand more if Halo 5 was a distant game but Halo 5 is the game before infinite. When you go to playing for 6 or so years to suddenly playing this. It’s like having a cinder block attached to you. I get it. A lot of people that didn’t play halo 5 now play halo infinite but it’s not like people weren’t watching HCS back then too. Which is why I compare in the post.
Frosty would do better. We all would. Why? Because there is my outplay potential. More chances to shine. More chances to show off your individual skill. More chances to pull off a flashy move making the other player look slow.
yep, slower is better but there are also really crazy situational moves that happen in infinite. In halo 5, everything was crazy which made it unspecial and hard to folllow. Infinite still needs more interesting combat though such as neutral equipment that completely changes a flow of a map and really put teams on their toes.
plus its just most of the times perfects or 5 shots. No misses or whiffs and then comebacks from those whiffs in that 1v1 or outplaying someone. All because the aim assist is too high.
I can understand some autos being removed like the AR and Suppressor, but you’d think the needler would have stayed as like a single clip power weapon or something. Or the Brute Plasma Rifle which actually had a somewhat interesting learning curve. The amount of shots to kill was almost the same as the amount of shots to overheat. In other words, you needed insane accuracy with a weapon that had bullet travel or you needed really good heat management skills.
I’m rambling. My point is that Halo’s arguably known more for its weapons than it’s movement. It’s the proud owner of at least 3 iconic weapons that are immediately recognizable (AR, Energy Sword, Needler). And I think it’s a shame H5, the Halo with the biggest most diverse and fun sandbox, didn’t show it off more.
Honestly they need forge, and just like Competitive forge mode.
Or have forgets make maps like some Most Extreme elimination and have public contest where players have eto navigate crazy obstacle course or Griff all tournaments with ra Dom things happening on the map like parts of the arena break off after a while. Maybe amoxe where you have to launch A mongoose off a warthog and get it into a goal.
I must say I liked watching it. But none the less, there are some things from Halo 5 I really miss: thruster as a default ability, Magnum starts (NO, I don’t want Sidekick starts!).
But so many things from Halo Infinite I like: pickups, outline system, the insane amount of customization when it comes to the experience: FOV, sound, deadzones, UI, HUD, weapon offsets, custom button layouts.
Going to Halo 5 now feels so extremely zoomed in. It is really weird. If they ever give Halo 5 an FoV slider and custom button layouts, I would probably start playing it again.
Same could be said about older Halo MLG/tournaments honestly. I’ve never found Halo to be a particularly fun game to watch live, highlights were always more dynamic and fun. Being there in person would most likely be more exciting as well, like sporting events compared to broadcasts.
The only two games I’ve ever enjoyed watching live were Overwatch and CSGO, loved the gameplay dynamics in Overwatch and CS gives you ability to spectate in game live giving entirely new perspectives to the experience. Games are more fun to play than watch anyway.
Which is hilarious because Halo 2 plays at a slower speed than Halo Infinite does, base movement usually sets the precedent and Halo 2’s has a much slower pace than Infinite’s without even factoring in Sprint.
Action is mostly subjective to the user, but the pace is clearly faster in Infinite. There’s no need to apply revisionist wishful thinking where reality doesn’t fit your narrative.
Using it wrong then, the Infinite needler is actually a blast to use. Not too weak, not overpowered, pretty balanced and requires some footwork alongside a skilled reload strategy to use correctly which lends it some finesse.
I watched some and I blame the maps. The maps just aren’t very good. So small and cluttered really. Spartans bouncing around like ping pong balls as the maps seem to be more about maneuvering than actual gun play.
I was talking about the H5 needler. And I don’t have much of an opinion on Infinite’s needler. I’ve had success with it, but I the effects were more obvious.
