Halo 5 HCS tournaments were live, fast, and exciting. Moment to moment epicness
Halo infinite definitely doesn’t put on a show.
I just have it on mute in the background for the loot…
Pro fps contests are just boring in general. There isnt as much possibilities of what can happen compared games like LOL where there are numerous factors that can change the game in an instant. All Halo really has for a game changer in Comp is power weapons, so only a couple kills with a Rocket launcher or some good snipes is about it.
Its just lack luster, the highlight of the last HCS for me was the game crashes.
That’s not true, halo 5 had more exciting moments as it had more potential for individual players to shine and do crazy plays. All i see so far in halo infinite is Trade ,cross angles and collapse. nobody gives a crap about team plays clips.

I mean you played the hcs playlist in H5 right? Literally nothing on the maps except pistols and map a plasma pistol. All of those cool weapons in the game and pro wanna do is strafe with BRs. So lame.
The fun was the abitlies. Sure. Everything was precision but the flashy combos and stylish moves came from the ablities. That’s what made it fun to watch.
They could’ve kept some autos on field back then. But overall it was for the better. There was a lot more focus on aim.

I only expected the AR to not be a start. I didn’t think they would remove the autos off the map.
nobody here said halo 5 is perfect but it’s 100% more enjoyable to watch than halo infinite.
My point is that you can’t take this person’s words seriously. They’re obviously extremely biased in their opinions/takes.
Its like when Frosty talks smack about Halo Infinite… No duh you were Halo 5 goat so its obvious and doesn’t really accomplish anything.
Go back and watch 2016/2017 Halo 5… It was nooby compared to what it became 2018 or later.
You should also check out some Halo 2/3 maybe Reach (v7 hopefully) gameplay and it was also extremely boring. Halo is a tactical shooter. All about teamwork/strategy so very different from other games where 1 dude can straight up kill and entire team and win a match. Basically NBA vs NFL in a nutshell.
Halo 2 is faster and more action packed than Halo infinite is.
The entire game design of Halo infinite is slow and boring. Not just the gameplay.
In halo 5 the map plaza had a lot of things to climb on which led to cool jumping plays in the middle of the map on the light posts. That’s just one example.
Or the invis on The rig when you shoot it down and everyone waits or jumps into the pit for it.
You claim bias but objectively there isn’t really much to look at in halo infnite as something to watch in a stream.
Probably the majority do.
BUT. Can you stop? 20k people ‘just here for the loot’ artificially inflate the numbers that 343 and HCS then use to sell the content to advertisers. Effectively it’s another way to monetise the armour, even though you aren’t paying for it. If you stop it with this obsession with dress ups for your dollies then 343 might actually spend some time fixing the things that are actually broken with the game - and there’s too many to list.
I don’t get why everyone keeps mentioning frosty being a halo 5 goat discredits his view of halo infinite more than the avg player. If anything I value his opinion more than the avg joe. Also halo infinite is still (competitively) still early, he can still be the goat.
Why does every criticism about this game in this forum the defense is always bringing up past halo 1/2/3. What does it matter how popular it was back then? Pinball game was popular, u don’t see people downloading pinball game now
Because Frosty has an ulterior motive. If the game stayed like Halo 5 he would’ve won more already lol. There is an obvious bias to it. Like politics, important to know where/why people say the things they do. Like, for example, when a Halo 2/3 pro tells you how much better Halo would be if it were like those games does it surprise you?
I’m not even trashing Halo 5 or giving Infinite a love letter here, I like both for different reasons. But boy what a surprising take seeing a Halo 5 fanatic (some could say lunatic) trash Infinite. What a crazy turn of events.
Precedent sets the present.
I mean this is pretty much what most people maintain is the definitive approach to competitive Halo, and a large part of why people are always creaming over BR starts in every Halo game.
Good luck trying to convince every single person doing what I’m doing to stop. Its a PR tactic for companies, and it works. Give something free for a few clicks and some bandwidth to leverage PR and make the game “look good.” No matter how shady it is, its not going away and one or two people wont make a difference.
Stop an obsession of customization options? You mean one of the core aspects of every halo game?
Yeah, not gonna happen. Infinites customization is horrendous compared to previous halos and used as a cash grab tactic, but its still a core pillar to the game.
Are they spending time to fixing things in the game? Yes, but it takes a long time since the game engine is horrible. We haven’t seen a roadmap and complete open clarity because 343 screwed up so badly that they have so much more to fix. If they dont get the roadmap right it’ll be insane backlash, so they are “fixing things in the dark” and only bringing them public as they know its ready.
Make the tournaments MKB and it will be a lot better. The fire fights and gameplay are so good in MKB Ranked. A lot more exciting than what it is now.
