So I finally got to play some firefight after being gone for awhile and I gotta say, I’m not entirely impressed.
Is it fun? Can be. When you aren’t stuck in a respawn screen for 30 some odd seconds because a crawler 3 shot you from off screen.
I noticed a lots changed. Req points are insanely easy to get now. The new reqs are pretty cool, loving the wasp specifically.
But lets get to what I was really looking forward to which was FF.
I honestly think a few things need to change. Not really a lot, but something to make it slightly less oppressive.
First off, why spawn enemy vehicles in round 1? Theres nothing we have to deal with them.
Secondly, why have the first objective be a “defend the armory” and spawn it half way across the map with enemies spawned inside? By the time you get there its already half way taken or almost entirely taken.
Third. Respawn timer for later waves is waaaaaaay to high comparative to the damage enemies are able to dish out. I understand the idea of wanting people to use reqs to win, but when that nice handbill scorpion dies in 2.5 seconds because the enemies deal a belligerent amount of damage as well as spawning a belligerent amount of enemies all at the same time, I’m not going to spawn my Hannibal scorpion just to have it obliterated by the op grunt mech. This is my only real problem with FF. Also, Prometheans should not be allying with the covenant. Don’t spawn 50 knights with Cannons with the grunt mech. Theres overkill, then theres that crap.
If you want a crawler to be allowed to 3 shot people, respawn timers gotta go down a bit. 25 at the absolute max would be fine.
I’m even ok with bosses being bullet sponges cause honestly all I ever played was WZ so I’m used to it.
I just honestly think some slight tweaks would make it perfect. Its current state is great, but it could be amazing.
So TL;DR I guess (hate these things) FF timer is to high based on enemy damage and spawn rates. Set respawn timer to 25 at wave 5 and 20 at 4 or lower the spawn numbers of enemies protecting the already over powered bosses.
