FINALLY beat T&R mission on Legendary

ok this mission has taken so long to beat on legendary i got stuck in the first room you get the lift to when you enter the ship!!! the one with the invisible Elites with power swords! hardest mission I have played to date! my biggest mistake was having Boom and Grunt Funeral skulls on which in tight rooms means death to everyone including you!

glad to finally have completed it!!! anyone else have trouble on this level?

I did to.
The hardest parts for me were:
-The Gravity Lift area.
-The part you are talking about. For that I ran inside those corridors that have the Grunts, and Jackals walking out of. Then I did Guerrilla tactics. I want to one door, killed some enemies, then went to the next door, and did the same thing. What sucks is when you have the Gold elites spawning in that area I was in.

> ok this mission has taken so long to beat on legendary i got stuck in the first room you get the lift to when you enter the ship!!! the one with the invisible Elites with power swords

In other words, Elites who don’t have shields, who can’t shoot you, and whose invisibility is rendered useless because they A. run straight at you and B. carry a giant glowstick.

What’s the difficulty again? Oh yes, the damn jackals, but PP and grenades can counter those pretty well.

> but PP.

giggles
You said pp.

> You said pp.

haha

I didn’t find the level hard at all. I might try it out again to prove my case.

Congratulations.
I take it was an attempt without John Rambo’s bandana on to boot. It does change the tone of the level very much if you aren’t a surgeon with the SRS99 and/or carry it all the way through.
The belly of the beast is one of my favourite encounters in Halo. Simple yet effectively taxing.

I dont have the Bandana Skull yet! I had my trusty sniper rifle and plasma pistol combo!! there were lots of panic no scopes when the Elites spawned behind me and charged in the corridor but im glad the level is now over

I am struggling more on this game at Legendary Difficulty then any other I have played (excludes Halo 2 as never played it) dont remember it so hard when first played…maybe games have got easier in recent years

That level was ridiculous on legendary. Keyes kept on dying, the firefight when you first arrive on the cruiser, and the length of the mission made it insane.

glad you agree…keyes is a moron kept running ahead! the first firefight when you board the ship was hard as you dont get a checkpoint for a long time!

The only surprise spawn is one encounter that is after the 2nd Hunter pair. I believe that’s what you’re referring to?

Keyes is an idiot, but I think the only parts that are actually dangerous to him are:

-the 2 Stealth Elites
-the 2 Jackals after the Stealth Elites

It is important to take out the Stealth Elites before Keyes blows himself up and it is important to take out the Jackals so you can focus on the Elite and Grunts on the other side. The rest is easy because Keyes goes where you go so if you stay back and kill Grunts before they throw their grenades, it’s an easy escort.

I saw the title on in the thread library thing whatever and because it was so long it simply said: Finally Completed truth and Reconciliation. and i was thinking WHAT? Tremendous achievement my good sir, i dont play on legendary because heroic is the only difficulty i play on, dont know why.

I think 3 needles would kill Keyes…

I found the section once you reach the top of the grav lift to be easiest if you jump onto the parked wraith get the checkpoint, wait until the first invis sword elite come’s out the door near the wraith. (You can keep on revert back to last checkpoint until he does). Plasma pistol Overcharge and kill him, then wait until the doors that open to the hallways open and the grunts and jackals start coming out, and go into the hallway area early. And pop in and out of the Gravlift room to kill stragglers, and then new enemy’s will spawn in the hallway you’re in and you can spawn kill them. But be careful because they can easily kill you on legendary.

Yeah that area right as you get on T&R, with those skulls on would empty the whole room of life in a heartbeat. A few times I would hear an explosion on the opposite side of the room and just an entire chain reaction until I got blown back towards where the explosions started. In some respects, it was rather comical and frustrating at the same time.

Thats what finally worked for me, getting into the corridors to avoid the splash damage from the skull accelerators. Turn them off? Nah it was too much fun.

if you dont have the bandana skull then grunt funeral and boom are great for clearing rooms…just pop 1 grunt and let the chain reaction kill everything else…like you say just have to avoid that splash damage !!! specially on Legendary that kills you very quick!! as does the hunter blast attack!

> power swords

lol energy sword buddy :stuck_out_tongue: this thread is hilarious :stuck_out_tongue:

Haven’t tried with skulls on yet but the grav lift area after you get in the ship only takes afew tries. For me it took maybe 3 tries to get it done. What you need are full sniper ammo and a plasma pistol. PP the invis elites, grunts and jackals, nade them too, and it takes 3 sniper rounds per gold elite, or 1 sticky, or 1 PP overcharge and 1 sniper round. Also one of the doorways where enemies come out of you can enter if you’re fast enough and can hold out of there. But watch it cuz enemies will spawn behind you sometimes. Aside from its length the only really annoying parts are when you get to the hanger and the red elite in the middle keeps hiding, and on the top level you go halfway and enemies spawn behind and ahead of you. I just ran forward into a corridor that had enemies. They ran out as I ran in.

I hate them gold elites took me so long to do that mission.
