Overall, I am impressed with what 343 has done with this update. If there was anything more I could want, it’d be more endurance to vehicles. What do you think of this update?
I’m really excited, the 110% movement speed was unexpected but welcomed
Me like’y.
Consistent Carbine? Hell Yeah!
I question wether or not it was a good move to reduce the RRR of the BR and Carbine. Hopefully the DMR an LR got a large decrease to make it fair.
Also I really question if it was a good idea to reduce the ROF of the LR’s hip fire. 5 shots from the hip with that thing kills slow as it is.
I want to know why the BR’s RRR is being reduced! Isn’t it bad enough in comparison to others?
It was reduced because these rifles are top notch when it comes to damage but now they lack in range to balance out the lower damage given by the LR and DMR

343i have always stated that the DMR was getting a slight decrease. The LR, on the other hand, is in fact getting an increase in RRR to match the DMR.
It is only logically that the BR/Carbine got a slight decrease in RRR as they are not meant to compete with the LR/DMR. Any change in the RRR for the DMR downwards always warranted a reduction with the BR/Carbine so that they would not all be in the same ballpark in RRR. All four weapons will now be dominant in the spheres they were meant to be. BR/Carbine owns small 4v4 maps. DMR/LR owns at long range. All four weapons have a meeting at midrange, the skilled player will win, most of the time.
I agree about the LR unscoped issue. It was wrong for 343i to do that; it is the only fault I found wit the weapon tweaking.
Automatics are going to be so good. Increased damage AND decreased spread, dang. As long as you are not bad and don’t miss due to the decreased auto aim, they will absolutly own. 110% movement is even better news, you can close the gap faster. Cant wait to use them. They will be perfectly guns, not just troll tools.
Overall, I’m pleased with what I’ve read. My only issue is that they only reduced the RRR of the DMR. I mean, it’ll probably help a little bit, but I feel that it might not be enough to balance out the DMR.
>LR unscoped rate of fire has been decreased, scoped increased
…wat. 343 didn’t need to do anything other than increasing the RRR because it’s already technically the most powerful precision weapon. Now it’s going to be utterly pathetic unscoped, while it will mop the floor with the DMR when scoped.
I did not see that coming. That’s my only problem with an otherwise amazing update.
For the first time since launch I am genuinely excited.
Ignore what was stated earlier. Friend got on account…nuff said.
The Assault Rifle does not need a buff IMO. 3 shots to kill…and it is an automatic weapon? It’s gonna be overpowered.
Everything sounds awesome!
But the LR unzoomed RoF decrease is making me depressed…

I’m not sure if that’s a typo or…I don’t know where to begin.
The assault rifle kills in three less bullets, meaning it takes 13 bullets to kill. It is also having its spread decreased at the cost of aim assist being decreased as well.
This will make the AR more powerful, more ranged, and more skillful.

The new scoped LR will have a ~1.3 second killtime.
The current LR using the scope-unscope trick has a ~1.4 second killtime, which matches most of the weapons after balance.
If they did not nerf if, the LR would be the best rifle. And frankly being fairly useless at medium range isn’t an issue if it’s extremely powerful at long range.

With the DMR RRR reduced, this should improve Map movement on the bigger maps, without you always getting hit by someone camping back of base with the DMR.
It will also encourage the people that do this, to move around and get closer to the action.
The weapon tuning I hope does to Halo 4, what the TU did to Halo 3, make a great game even greater game.
Lets hope most of all, 343 get the balance right for Halo 5.

If you didn’t know, only 1 shot from the LR needs to be scoped, to achieve a 4 shot kill. Any headshot with the 4th bullet scoped or not, is a kill as long as a previous shot was scoped.
Nice little info for those who didn’t know this.
Still worried about the carbine, my weapon of choice, but I’ll see how it plays out.
