You all keep saying the exact same thing. Using more words does not help your position at all. Facts are a large part of this community plays casual and does want sprint regardless of what you say. Facts are that while the tryhards do not want sprint in the game. There is only one way for 343 to ultimately satisfy both groups and that is to create H4 with sprint, and to provide a playlist were it is disabled. Cry us a river if you like but that is the fairest solution. Sprint can not be added back into the playlist after the game is created. Any other solution is not fair to the casual players. Weather you are try hard, or casual, we are all here for the same reason, the love of the game…

Casuals wouldn’t care if sprint was added or not. It’s the scrubs that want it.
That is simply not true, map size has been too large since H3 DLC to move from cover to cover without sprint. No one wants to be out there as a sitting duck. Population counts in H3 show a strong leaning toward casual games, and reaches casual population plays mostly in playlists that include sprint, living dead and SWAT. in fact they frequently swamp the competitive team slayer playlists.
Fact is the MLG will get their won little section of the game where they can strip 90% of the sandbox out anyway like they always do, so why people are complaining i have no idea.

Make the maps smaller then? No one likes big maps, other than the people playing BTB <>. They gotta stop forcing relatively large maps on 4v4 and 2v2 gametypes; they don’t play as well as the smaller stuff like Lockout, Midship, Guardian, Sanctuary, etc… Sprint just promotes larger maps too, because you can move greater distances in a shorter time. It’s just simple map design theory. You don’t get vehicles on small maps, nor do you get small maps with a mechanic like sprint.

What are you on about? You forget, this isn’t Call of Duty. You can survive much longer out of cover. Just long enough to get to the next piece.
> Fact is the MLG will get their won little section of the game where they can strip 90% of the sandbox out anyway like they always do, so why people are complaining i have no idea.
Because the competitive community would rather not have to “strip 90% of the sandbox”.

Agreed, smaller maps would be great and i would be happier with a faster base player speed, then with sprint. but that doesn’t negate the need for one or the other. Without bloom life spans will be shorter on midsize and up maps without speeding things up somehow.

How touching.
This made your entire post worth the read. The lack of organization, the poor grammar, and the shift of focus were all blown away by this non-platitudinous line.

You’d rather have 90% of the sandbox gone in the first place, than let MLG edit out all the fun? That kinda destroys it for everyone who doesn’t feel like playing a ‘hardcore’ game type, which is basically what everything will become if we only get the BR.

So they would much rather kill the casual population count then then share the game with other Less “skilled” players. Where do you think the next Gen of tryhards is going to come from.

I don’t see how StarCraft or TF2 killed the casual population, two games where the “casual” and “competitive” gametypes are the same. Halo 4 doesn’t need to kill off either side, nor does it need to separate them.
Halo has always had both casual and try hard, with separate playlists because the demands for each are different. Reach has multiple try hard playlists, and very little in the way of casual playlists. They’re attempt to throw us all into the same pot does not work. The casual playlists do have good POP counts, by comparison to competitive though. To demand sprint be removed from all playlists is just selfish.

No, he wants the sandbox to be competitive out of the box.

That is just selfish, some of us just want it to be fun out of the box, and we are more then willing to let you have your own playlist.

The irony…

@Bold: Why? I think it would be more fair to “create Halo 4 without sprint” and then have a playlist where it is enabled
That way, more people would be happier with more of the playlists, because the causals don’t need sprint to be content and satisfied, but the competitive need to not have it to be happy.
Taken from another thread, but describes my view of the matter quite well.

We’re more than willing to give you a playlist of your own as well. See the rest of the post for why that would be the better solution.

It s funny because i see that the other way around. Competitive players demanding all games are played there way, and casuals well they must do what you say. personally i don’t care if sprint comes with the ability to enable, or disable. i just think it, or a faster base player speed, needs to come in the box.
Exactly, the classic gametypes which everyone loves (Slayer, CTF, King of the Hill, Oddball) all have the potential to be competitive straight out of the box. It is no less fun for the casual players to have sprint or just to move faster in general.
But simply because the really-competitive community has imposed on everyone that sprint is awful (which it IS, might I add), there’s been a backlash of casual players thinking “Hey, you guys don’t control our game, we actually like sprint now that you mention it!” Simply because they don’t mind sprint.
Casual players had fun playing competitive gametypes back in other games, why not now?
As long as you’re killing people and scoring objectives, that is fun. The problem isn’t that competitive gametypes aren’t fun, because if a casual gamer goes into MLG he will have no fun at all, but for an entirely different reason. It’s because he’s getting destroyed by better players.
I challenge 8 less competitive players to get together in an MLG CTF game and not have as much fun as in the default gamemode.
is the title of this post supposed to be akin to hitlers -Yoink!- plan… -_-

You missed a very essential part of it all.
The thing is “their way” can be and has been everyone’s way, whereas the neocore way can’t, hasn’t or won’t.
Making it their way is less selfish because everyone can still enjoy it, but if it goes the other way around and the neocore gametypes make up the major part of matchmaking instead, a lot of people can’t.
It’s what’s the best for the most people.
