Main Menu/Match Making UI: Everything is O.K. I don’t like how you enter full-screen menu “sections” for every little step - feels too mobile like, feels very awkward. What happened to classic menus? What’s with the modern tile crap? Feels like it’s trying hard to seem “modern” while sacrificing efficiency and user experience. It seems like 343 decided beauty over function.
Customization: This is where the tile feeling makes more sense for the UI. However, I don’t like how all the options are horizontal. This seems like a disaster for when you have a lot more items and options to go through. A side menu with some 4x8 tile menu would be nicer. Body types seem like they make hardly any difference. Chest pieces seem pointless. Most cases, they kind of make your armor look worse since they have no color, and also seem like they have no utility lore wise. Are they just attaching weights to themselves for no reason? Seems like lazy design, like someone just needed to make chest pieces and they just threw that together to satisfy their boss.
Art Style: I know I may be a minority here, and I know its too late to even consider my opinion… But armor feels super “Reach” like and I am really not a fan. I wasn’t even a big fan of that when Reach came out. Didn’t feel like Halo, still sort of doesn’t. All the armor feels the same, but different. Everything blends too well together, and looks like generic sci-fi soldier armor. Nothing that screams “Halo”.
Weapons: AR, BR, and Pistol are really well balanced. Please don’t touch these. Skewer seems meh. I’d much rather have a spartan laser for the same effect but better. Plasma grenades feel tiny, and lack a “flare” feel they once had. I miss the satisfying feeling they once had. They feel like an after thought now. For melee the lunge could be toned down a bit. Feels like the Commando perk in MW2.
Movement: I liked it more than I thought I would, but it does feel too fast paced. As someone who want’s sprint removed, if it needs to be kept, this is the best balance. Clamber shouldn’t stop you from being able to fight. Let me shoot while clambering, and I would be okay with it. Sliding could be removed or kept for all I care. Though I did use it on occasion to beat someone to equipment.
Maps: Again, I’ll be a minority, but I only really liked Live Fire. It felt the most Halo, especially aesthetically. Recharge, was okay, but aesthetically and design-wise felt like Halo 5 which I don’t like. Bazaar aesthetically felt like COD or CSGO. I would think we were in the year 2030, not 2500+. Could work if it had more of an ODST vibe to it. I don’t mind the design of it, just aesthetics.
Bots: Honestly felt no difference between ODST and Spartans. In fact, Spartans felt waaay easier. Obvious bugs in their path finding at times, and seemed to be very ADD when it came to combat. Overall, they would fulfill their purpose for a beginner.
Outline System: This was O.K. Instead of outlining enemies in red, just have our teammates outlined in blue with name tags above their head, able to be seen at all times, even through walls. This way, anyone without these things could easily be identified as an enemy. As long as we can easily identify our teammates it shouldn’t be hard to identify our enemies. Outline makes it hard to notice shield pops and stuff. COD does this.
Battle Pass: Honestly, I hope the rewards are a little more exciting for the real ones. Honestly didn’t care for anything I got, besides the maybe the helmet at the end. However, I would not have paid money for any battle pass similar to that. It was pretty lame. I also feel the same way for MCC though. I just don’t like what you guys consider “rewards”. Nothing has a “new toy” feeling. All just feels like I could take it or leave it.
AI: Honestly, they seem like a novelty idea. However, if you are going to do AI, why would you make them lame boring shapes like that with quirky voices? Why don’t they each have some Cortana or Roland look and sound to them? That would at least be more interesting. To be able to feel some sort of relationship with them like Chief and Cortana have or something.
