Unfortunately I never got the chance to play the beta for Halo 5, but I am curious to hear all your thoughts on how it played compared to the final product. What did you like in the beta that you now don’t like in the final game? What things did it do better? What about vice versa?
Side note: Every time I watch beta gameplay for H5, I’m a lot more interested and invested in what’s going on, than with the full game. I don’t know why, but it just looks like the game was more “in sync” if you will.
Discuss mates, I’m really interested in what you all have to say.
I didn’t enjoy the beta. While I liked the new mechanics, I didn’t quite like the feel of them. I didn’t like their balancing at the time. Also, the TTk’s seemed out of whack.
I much prefer the final product.
Roughly about the same with some certain tweaks, namely the TTK for auto weapons. There’s a list of changes you can find on Google, but most are just a collection of smaller things like the DMR scope changing to cover the whole screen rather than half of it.
I like the pistol buff a lot. It was more of a fast firing, low damage weapon in beta
The two things I definitely preferred in the beta were the camera control (even though it felt loose) and the shield sounds, all of them.
I enjoyed the beta a lot more, the AR had a little more range and power now it works like a weak sub machine gun. The pistol worked liked a pistol now it’s a dmr with a magnum skin without the scope.
I really enjoyed the beta, but I think the final product that we’re playing is slightly better at the very least. The ranking system makes more sense now even though I’d kill for an official ranked doubles playlist.
After I played the beta I couldn’t wait for halo 5 to come out!!! Loved how every weapon zooms! Love what they did with light rifle/ dmr!!! Only weird difference for me is I don’t like how they changed the map Pegasus! I like the way it was in the beta better!
