file share support on halo waypoint

Since Bungie is doing the Final Transition for every Halo stats to 343’s servers, how about adding a File Share? I’ve checked around Waypoint (particularly this website) and can’t seem to find It. If we don’t get File Sharing by the time the merging is complete, which is on March 31, then most likely we can’t share our videos to our friends and/or community (e.g, RoosterTeeth).

Totally! I thought exactly the same thing. It would be mental to remove such a massive ability so they’ll have to have thought how to do this.

It was confirmed in the recent Halo Bulletin that sadly, File Shares will not be added to Waypoint until Summer of 2012.

File sharing will only be possible in-game between March 31st and X date in summer.

> Starting on April 1, we will be increasing Halo: Reach File Share capacity from 6 slots to 24 slots at no extra charge. All Halo: Reach files, including films, screenshots, game types, and maps, will continue to be fully accessible in-game, just like they are today. We’re also excited to announce that we are bringing Halo: Reach File Share access to the web version of Halo Waypoint this summer. After March 31, there will be a short period where new Halo: Reach user-generated content will not be accessible from the web.

I see. Are they going to have this ‘render minutes’ just like Bungie to view in-game clips?

I wonder how RoosterTeeth will continue doing the Fails of the Weak or HORSE when no one has access to the File Share on the Web. I wouldn’t imagine for them to ask for everyone’s Gamertag just to get their File from their account.

There will be no sort of ‘rendering system’ like Bungie’s.

As for Fails of the Weak & Horse, they will have literally thousands stack up in e-mails, I remember back in December of 2010, they confirmed they still had clips left from Septermber 2010, they will be able to continue without a doubt.

I don’t understand why Bungie had this in the first place. Maybe 343 should give users to view their own clip If It’s less than 30 seconds?

I’ve submitted my clips to them, but It’s gonna take a while for them to get to mine, considering the thousands of fans give them the clip to be featured in their episodes.

Any clips rendered on and before March 31st will still be viewable on Bungie.net, it will just no longer be updated post-March 31st.

I’d imagine until we can submit them, we could just send them our gamertag, making sure that our Fail video/HORSE map is in, telling them what file it is, and having them download it.

So if i Purchased Render minutes, i cant use them after the 31st? And What happens if you have a bunch of left over Minutes after said date? Will the Rendering system still work so i can use the minutes? And will we still keep our Render minutes, or will they go the way of the Dinosaurs?

They will simply vanish after March 31st, you haven’t been able to purchase them since February now, so spend spend spend.

It’s still pretty cool that we are gonna get 24 slots for free instead of 6. Which is a major bonus. So I guess I can wait awhile.

With the bungie servers gone from bungie.net, when will players be able to download user created content (maps, gametypes, films, screenshots) off the web? Will this be available this Summer on Halo Waypoint? And lastly, bungie.net used to show the number of downloads and likes for files, will this feature be added to Halo Waypoint?

Thanks

Awesome that additional slots will be added to our fileshare!

The file share will be back this summer.

I loved to make videos of big team battles with my friends and taking screenshots. What good are they if I can’t share them? If they’re not going to give me means to download the stuff to my PC they shouldn’t tease me with the Theatre-section.

I hope they plan to pick this up, I like the sharing features in Mw3 for example.

Having a theater section isn’t teasing, it lets you watch moments of awesomeness/stupidity/etc… whenever you want, though only on a console. If you really want those clips, look into buying a capture card.

Ω

Why is it when I try to look at what was most downloaded and find someones gamertag to download there map it shows no files ???
