File Share Request & Problems/Bugs

Cool. There are guys asking where to go about this file share stuff, it would be nice to have an official support thread. As for now, I’ll just direct them here.

If a file has no author, for example, the Prisoner Anniversary variant in Matchmaking right now doesn’t have an author, it will break the section you are trying to view where it is uploaded, so take bs angel’s file share for an example found here, she currently has a older Team Hotshot variant in her File Share and it has no author name, making the whole Game Types section break on her File Share and others can not see it either.

This is also the case when you try to search for a tag on the File Browser and one of files doesn’t have an author either.

  1. I had several rendered films, which are inaccessible, in fact I get the message “No Files Found”. Did the system only copy over files that were rendered, currently in the file share? After rendering them, I was able to remove them from my share to conserve space. This may also be related to #3.

  2. The ability to email and share files via FB & Twitter all have a very generic default message “Cool Stuff: (link to file)”. We should also be able to send XBL messages from here, similar to that of Custom Challenge integration.

  3. Recently changed my gamertag, and any files associated to my old tag seem to be missing. This bleeds through to File Sets as well, I have the sets I’ve made in the past, but the files seem to not be linked.

  4. The community file browser tag search is broken. You can type in your search for a tag, and it tries to request suggestions for similar tags that is knows, but clicking on these only causes the menu to disappear.

I have this issue where I can’t view rendered videos on here. Keeps telling me to check my internet connection …

File Share Request/Problem (to me at least lol):

Everytime a screenshot is viewed that “big white see through box” appears indicating the players in the pic, even when not trying to scroll over them, which is very obtrusive and takes away from the photo’s quality… please address this

Cannot find where to add files to a file set. I’m not gonna waste hours looking for the button if it’s not there, anyone know if it’s possible to add to file set atm?

> Cannot find where to add files to a file set. I’m not gonna waste hours looking for the button if it’s not there, anyone know if it’s possible to add to file set atm?

that might have been overlooked actually, at least for your own files. I know you can add other user’s files to a set by clicking the “add file” button below it (next to the download button) but on your own File Share files it is replaced by the “Remove File” button :stuck_out_tongue:

could be mistaken on this though, the feature could be there but I havnt looked at it in depth yet

Can’t create a file set :frowning:

Found a bug! My download history also counts screenshots that I’ve loaded on “Most Downloaded Files” in game. Sometimes I like to see what people enjoy in this community. Like Elites…

EDIT: Clear Download Queue doesn’t seem to work…

Could you make a tab or something that hosts all official game types/map variants currently in matchmaking. Its rather annoying when I need a single game type or map and have to do a mad search either through here or go play matchmaking until I find it.

May I direct you to this thread? http://forums.halo.xbox.com/yaf_postst13748_T-U-R-F-S--Matchmaking-Files---06-20-12.aspx

For some reason, I can’t view the gametypes I have in my fileshare.
All it said is:

> “Sorry, we encountered a problem while processing your request.”

cant get onto my file share, used the link in OP with my GT at the end and it said error. Navigated through community>filebrowser and service record>fileshare/filesets and there is no files.

???

Previewing the image before going to “download hi-res,” the image is a little stretched and distorted. Only if you “download hi-res” the image becomes in proper resolution. Please fix this!

Works fine for me.

No Halo 3/ Halo 3: ODST support??

If this is the official File share request topic, i have just one…

A “recent screenshot” section just like Bnet.

Even though your File share is bigger than it used to be, its nice to see what people are doing what they dont, or could not, upload to their File share.

> No Halo 3/ Halo 3: ODST support??

Halo 3 & ODST aren’t the primary focus right now and they have no plans to bring File Share support or in-depth stats for both, however, in the future once Halo: Reach isn’t the new game and Halo 4’s stats are released, they may begin work on a file sharing system for H3 & ODST.

Taken from the Halo Bulletin 20.6.12

It is being considered

I have the same issue with rendered videos not playing.

just so everyone knows, you can still watch rendered videos on bungie.net

So I just checked out the file share and realized I have almost nothing in mine! However I did notice something that I personally would really want to be incorporated into file shares.

Requests

  1. Being able to watch/download videos directly off of waypoint to your home computer/laptop.

  2. Recent screenshots section
