File share for halo 4

Why can I not access my Halo 4 file share on Halo Waypoint? It’s the middle of January and they (343 or who ever is running this website) have yet to fix this problem. I know I am not the only one out there who still cannot access their Halo 4 file share and I would like to hear some answers.

They are going to talk about in the Bulletin. Bare with us!

Here’s an excerpt from the 12.12 Halo Bulletin which sheds a little more light on the situation involving the File Share:

> File Share
>
> Search for in-game File Share is still offline. Custom searches (by tag, most recommended, and most downloaded) are not enabled and will return “no files found”. We utilized something new for this particular Halo 4 feature, and it’s taking us longer than we initially anticipated getting it to a fully functional state. We recognize this is not an optimal situation, and we’ll continue working on it until it reaches shipping quality. In the meantime, here are the different actions you can take in your in-game Halo 4 File Share:
>
> • Upload files
> • Download files
> • Add to File Share
> • Remove from File Share
> • View someone else’s File Share (by Gamertag)
> • Tag Files
> • Recommend Files
> • Receive File recommendations
>
> This issue also affects web availability of the Halo 4 File Share. We expect both Search and web access to come online in early 2013, and we’ll provide another update in January. Again, we apologize for the delay, and we know this is painful for many of you

OMG they actually responded on the forums!

Yay!

Patience gamer friend, most companies don’t like to release these dates in case something goes sour, pushing it back even further.

They are responding more often to catch up for lost time. (I hope)

Guys when the holidays come up and you’re getting close to launching Halo 5 and nothing is running save Campaign and maybe some lag infested Multiplayer… I implore you to just gut through the holidays and release the game when it’s really ready to go. Especially if you’re going with the silent treatment with the communities.

You’ve reached the point where you have an already established massive fan base and general consumer interest in the product as you can tell by the sales from Halo 4, just firing it out and fixing it down the road really doesn’t work on retaining goodwill from such fans when it’s this big of a flagship title and you have a fandom as ravenous as the most insane Star Wars fanatics that have ever swung a mock light saber on youtube.

With that said I’m looking forward to whenever the rest of the game starts working.

343 thank you for responding to my problem and I hope it is fixed soon. I also agree with the other gamers here that when Halo 5 does come out, it will not be rushed out and there will not be a lot of bugs with it.

How would possibly know that?

Posting habits haven’t changed, we just made it easier to see when we post, is all!

Nice move. You also get more attention with the 343 logo next to a post which makes it easier for you guys to be heard.

Praise Shoggoth!

I can guarantee with almost 100% certainty that Halo 5 will not be released this next holiday season. Since 343 is owned by MS, they are the ones who determine the release date, not 343. It is likely that 343 would have taken more time to get other stuff in, but MS didn’t want to re-arrange its entire schedule for the rest of the year. Delaying Halo would mean delaying GoW: Judgement and then it would detract from the Summer of Arcade and the neXtBox anouncement.

Besides, you are talking like Halo 4 is broken. It works just fine. As with any game, there could be improvements, but the game is far from broken/terrible etc.

They didn’t give us the silent treatment, they took a holiday. Everyone deserves a vacation, especially if they just worked for the past 2 years making the Xbox’s flagship title.

It may work fine for you, but it’s been a three legged dog that stepped on bear trap since November as far I am concerned. But hey whatever, they’re finally starting to interact and it’s far easier to find them now. So kuddos on that change and it’s good one that will negate a lot of ill will on the forums quite quickly.
