File Browser - Halo 3 Had it Perfect

I already have feedback based on what i’ve heard about it. And it is simply, don’t break what wasn’t broken. Halo 3’s file browser was the best version, the only improvement would be how much you could put into the file browser, maybe sections for maps, gametypes, clips and have the limit of 24 (it was the maximum number at the end of Halo 3. Being able to look at someone’s profile and see what they had done from screenshots, to clips to maps and gametypes was one of the things that kept the game fresh and probably helped spawn some of Halo’s greatest custom games ever.

Having to follow a player just to be able to see what they have created just bogs things down

Halo 3 didn’t have a way to search for maps and gamemodes and stuff and you could only look at the fileshares of people in your lobby or if you already knew the gamertag so you could look them up. Halo Reach had the best file browser of all the games. It was simple and easy to use and you could find anything you wanted with it

I hopped on my 360 and found out that I had 180 forge world map variants that I found with the file browser, the best part is that I could remember every single map had some memory.

I agree with this, personally the file share and browser in Halo Reach and 3 were amazing. Bungie’s favs was a cool thing, searching for maps, gametypes, screenshots, etc made it the best. I remember I have spent hours looking just through the file browser just to find things that caught my eye lol

Yeah. Halo Reach had the best fileshare. If I wanted a puzzle map, I could play within minutes of searching. I don’t understand why 343 pushed for 60FPS so much. Yes. It is great, but meeting that requirement has pushed other components out of play and out of time. I should have been playing forge at launch.
