Fighting Humans

How do you feel about a human vs human or playing as Elites fighting humans segment in future Halo games? Like for example, the insurrectionists rise up again, or there are other humans that oppose the UNSC. I doubt they would actually have you play as a rebel, but that’s always a possibility.

i really wouldn’t like getting 1 hit killed by MC from insanse distances…

I’m not sure. If what you’re saying is we play as a Spartan killing human rebels, I don’t know if I could do it. It just wouldn’t feel right. If I really wanted to do this, I’d grab a friend, go to Firefight, switch to the Elite side while he fights as the humans. I have no problem slaughtering ODST’s when my initiatives are to kill the humans.

I don’t think the same sense of gratification and success would be present if we fought humans.

If we were playing as Covenant versus UNSC or Covenant versus rebels for a couple of missions as a fully fleshed-out covenant character (Similiar to the Thel Vadam missions in Halo 2) rather than a meaningless red-coat, then yes.

I hate the idea of Spartans vs rebels though. I know that that is what they were originally created for, but it just wouldn’t feel like Halo.

Can you imagine playing as a spec-ops Elite or something though, infiltrating a human military base and slaughtering marines as you went, and then encountering a team of spartans? Of course you wouldn’t be able to kill any of the spartans as you’re only one elite, unless there was a cutscene in which you faced off against a lone spartan that had been seperated from his squad.

An Elite can take on Spartans.

I believe there was a glitch in Halo 2 which allowed for the Arbiter to fight marines in either Sacred Icon or Quarantine Zone.

With Spartan OPs, it’s certainly possible to do some interesting things. Of course if it was against unshielded humans it would be difficult to make them a challenge seeing how they have no shields and are not augmented/favored by genetics as the Spartans/Elites are.

If you mean playing as Covies, then hell yeah!

I wouldn’t want it. Halo has been revolved around the fact that you are human and you are fighting the Covenant for the survival of Humanity. For me, that’s the most important underlying theme and it wouldn’t be “Halo” at all to me if we were to fight the Insurrectionists. I still like the books and so on about it though.

I’d love a spin-off game where you play as Thel from his point of view on CE or something along those lines.

343i hire this man.

But as far as I know he just leads his troops from his ship, he doesn’t fight next to them.

totally agree. you can fight against humans in lots of other games. not in halo

I loved arbiter missions in halo 2. Still think halo 2 had the best campaign in the franchise. an elite campaing would be great, but no against the humans. maybe brutes again? and flood…

This.

It’s more fun to betray marines than to be forced to fight them. What do you do after collecting a whole bunch of marines who are standing around doing nothing after having unleashed them on your adversaries and witnessed total destruction? You betray them. It’s extremely tempting might I add.

They drop grenades, they throw grenades, lots of tricking potential. Ever been launched by dozens of frag grenades? You can get a really big height with it.

I think it was sacred icon.

You fight humans in multiplayer.

Honestly it doesn’t matter and you will do whatever 343i says is canon or in campaign. There are no feels.

Do you guys seriously believe that humanity would all of a sudden be peaceful with one another? And I refuse to believe that the UNSC has not pressured the rebels to violence, through violence. I’m not saying that the UNSC has went all Hunger games on the rebels, but I am saying that the UNSC is probably not so sweet and innocent.

Fighting Humans would be awesome and add another layer of complexity to Halo.
