Fighting Against Aim-Assist (clip)

First of all, I’m very happy with the update that allows me to change my dead zones and aim acceleration. It has improved my aiming capabilities. However, from time to time I notice I have to literally fight the controller to aim where I want to aim. This happens most often with the AR while shooting somebody at about mid range while an enemy crosses between us, forcing my reticle to literally follow the closet enemy. Any attempt to pull away and return my aim causes a sluggish response, followed by 100% aim acceleration, causing my reticle to go all over the place, resulting in my immediate death.

This just happened to me again today playing Assault on Array while Defending the Armory. After jumping on top of the Armory I attempted to target the player further back because I believed his shields to be fully down. A player crosses in front of me literally preventing me from aiming at my desired target. After realizing this I attempt to shoot the nearest enemy who quickly leaves my line of sight. This causes my reticle to stick to my original target, however I’m now committed to the closer target. Attempting to target him causes my reticle to move sluggishly, followed by erratically. Immediately after this I am shot dead. My entire time was spent fighting the controls instead of the enemy. Given the circumstances, I was going to die regardless, but I was hoping to take out an enemy or two first.

Here is a clip of the encounter. I have slowed it down so you can actually see what I’m talking about.

This happens to me way too often, and I would definitely like a way to turn it off. The reticle should go where I put it and no place else.
