Please remove the sword from FFA.

I second this. Especially on Torque. You can sprint around with the sword all match hugging corners and take the win. At the very least take away the speed boost. I really wish we could see a HCS FFA playlist. The current version is really not great for competitive play.

If I had a choice, I’d probably replace the sword with either a SAW, Railgun, Rocket Launcher, or Sniper Rifle. And as much as I love using the sword from time to time, it’s pretty overwhelming while in the hands of a competent player.

Exactly, the entire match ends up being dictated by just 1 weapon that’s super easy to use and doesn’t run out of ammo until a new one is already spawning.

The sword problem isn’t anything new in FFA going back to H2, but my memory is more vivid with Reach FFA’s on Countdown in particular where someone would win just camping with it the whole game. The shotgun and concussion rifle were the only good counters for it, but it was easy to rack up kills.

I think Torque is the only map with a sword…
