The question is pretty simple, when you are walking/sprinting is it better to have the AR or Magnum on hand and ready?
(Please do not respond saying any other weapon I am wondering about the default load out)

Magnum. I’ll switch to my AR if I know I’m about to be in a situation where its useful.
I walk with the magnum out as its pretty good in most situations and you end up needing to pick off weak players pretty often in FFA. I only switch to the AR if I see a player on the radar and I know its going to be close quarters.
Magnum for sure. Easier to steal kills in FFA
That’s hard to say. It is probably better to walk with the Magnum most of the time, but you can always switch to the AR if you come to an area which will more likely have a close quarters engagement. When sprinting, it is probably better to carry the Assault Rifle. When you reach maximum speed, you can slide by crouching, Spartan charge by meleeing, but you can also instantly start shooting with the Assault Rifle or SMG by pulling the trigger. This is really useful. You cannot do it with a Magnum.
Depends on the map, and situation of the match, but as general guideline;
The M6 is usable quicker from Spartan Abilities than other weapons, when there’s a difference.
The AR softens for melees and headshots quicker than the M6.
When walking through the unknown, the AR is more versatile considering the CQB-short ranged nature of most maps. The AR is more versatile because;
When walking but knowing, the M6 will get the headshots the other players are softening each other’s shields for. It is a more skilled, but risky approach
For me I typically use my precision weapon over my automatic unless I’m in a certain situation.
Mn confined maps such as Molten, I normally walk around with the AR in hand. In bigger maps precision weapons are key.
The one thing about H5 is each weapon is an advantage or disadvantage depending on situation and map. I would say most of the time it is better to have the magnum ready. But maps like plaza or maybe even overgrowth, more close range style maps, it’s better to have the AR at the ready.
Goosing in a corner with AR.
Joke.
