FFA Slayer won’t launch with a fireteam/party of 2+ players. It says "You haveThis is preventing me and my friends from switching from MCC to Infinite. I’ve never seen anybody team up in FFA Slayer over the last 3 years so that’s definitely not something that should be considered. Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4 allows people in a party to play FFA slayer in MCC so this must be a bug.
It’s always been like that. If not people will exploit it by working with their friend.
This is a correct observation. FFA Slayer does not support Fireteams of 2+ to play.
People would be teaming if that was the case. It could end up being a bunch of teams of 2. Which might be an interesting mode called ‘tag team’ with 4 teams of 2 and limited lives and you must revive your tag team member like attrition

Me and my friends just put this “teaming up” concept you mentioned to the test. We had a party of 7 and we joined an 8 player FFA game. We all teamed up against 1 guy and that 1 guy ended up winning. Why? Because he had 7 people to shoot at and we only had 1 to shoot at, so he had the advantage and got more kills by NOT being on a team. Therefore, since teaming up does not give you an advantage and since nobody teams up in FFA to begin with, a party/fireteam of 2+ players should be allowed to play FFA slayer.
I have personally had some of my friends say that it sucks that you can’t play FFA with friends, because it would be funny to have two people team up against everybody else. I know for a fact from watching YouTubers and streamers, they team up in Battle Royale games. People even team up in Minecraft PvP. I think it works as intended.
Just because you personally have not seen it happen, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. It definitely happens, and definitely would happen.
There are even some games that have it as a bannable offense, but isn’t restricted, so you’d need evidence.
I fully support the concept of tag team. Older Halo games had 4 teams of 2… or was it 5 teams of 2? Halo 3 used to be 5v5. Idk when 4v4 started. We should go back to 5v5 and have 5 teams of 2 FFA. These should be modes. They will be custom games for sure someday.
That’s because it’s impossible to ![]()
I have, whether or not you’ve seen it (or I have) the point still stands, grouping up in a FFA mode runs the risk of those in a pre-made group just teaming up agianst randoms.
While I can understand the burning desire to make a mockery of the people I am playing with or have some friendly competition, 343i probably doesn’t want to risk even having to address that scenario.
Because you’re all god-awdul at the game in ways words can’t express? You weren’t actually teaming up against that dude? Or a blatant liar? Or a bait poster?
Just having your pals run to the back of the map so you can farm them would essentially garuntee victory.
And if you’re actually trying to slay the dude, all 7 of you would only need to land 2 shots with a sidekick to kill him and even in a 2v1 you could probably kill him before he even broke shields on one of you.
This is before we count anything like map control, power weapons, and the ability to back off and heal safely.
Realistically speaking, there’s no way for your average player is going to beat 7 other average players. Nobody is going to see a 1 v 7 and go “Ah yes, a balanced fight” unless it’s some Onyxian bullying Bronzies.
Teaming up does in fact have advantages, see above; there are people out there who would, given the chance.
Bad post.
Teams of two with multiple teams sounds really fun, maybe they could add that someday
