It really grinds my gears that most of the time you are supposed to play game after game with the same mlg maniacs over and over again - preferably on torque which they shove down your throat.
The things that pisses me off is that you can’t play any kind of matchmade FFA with friends. Yeah, yeah, boosting and all that crap, but that doesn’t justify ruining that option for everyone else that just wants to fight friends with a few randoms mixed in. Every other Halo has let you. Hell, Destiny even used to before it got the same stick lodged in its -Yoink-.
I don’t mind fighting the sweaty MLG wannabes. I mind being totally disallowed matchmade FFA with friends.
Actually I have had luck a everyone I have tried with my friends starting a FFA search at the exact same time and we got into the same match (all three of us) but that’s the only times we tried it so idk if it will work for you and your friends as well.
Try leaving the lobby whenever u finish the game.
Or maybe you were placed within the higher bracket for the placement matches since the system knows you are a good FFA player and wants to test how well you do with the higher tier players

Leave the lobby after the game to give you a better chance at playing new players. FAT has a lower population count so if you stay in a lobby odds are you will get quite a few of the same players.
