I just want to play Rumble Pit with one or two friends joining in with me. I don’t see why you restrict the party to 1 player for a social FFA game mode. For Last Spartan Standing I get it, but Rumble Pit? This isn’t MW2 where people boosted headshots with a friend for a skin.

Because otherwise people will first team up with those friends to kill off the enemies (and then LSS only attack each other when the rest is eliminated) or to use a friend to get easy kills, so they win.
FFA is a gamemode that is not meant for playing with friends. If you want to play FFA with friends, you should do that in custom games.

I remember back in the day, with halo 3 and reach you could join ffa with friends. 343’s issue is making sure everything ultra balanced for competition, but Halo is always more fun with friends. I think the benefits outweigh the cons on this one. All the fun new game modes are locked in ffa, so now I have to decide if I want to play with a couple of friends or play the new content. The most disappointing part of this season.

True, you could do that in earlier halo-games (including MCC), however it was being abused. That’s why they changed it. In MCC there were literaly people abusing that to gain quick and easy XP and rank up. There was even someone who tried to get the eagle shield as first that used it (that player was unsuccesfull in reaching it first though).
Hope they find a solution other than banning parties completely. Limit it to 2 people, keep the data on who is killing who so if you are exclusively being killed by party members or killing party members you do not get xp or challenge progress. Also, Infinite’s challenge system doesn’t seem like it can be abused in the same way those games could since you do not outright earn xp. At least as it currently stands now. I’d even be ok if you could earn nothing from playing ffa with a party. It’s just nice to jump in every now and again for the fun of it.
Couldnt agree more, this needs to be an option in Social. It should be fine for last man standing as well honestly. Its social unranked matches.
It’s 2022. Rumble Pit is a solo gametype that links you with other solo players. Play a custom game if you want to play with your friends against one another. But matchmaking should never have that option to search with multiple players in a solo gametype.

Yes, you could… and I’ve been a pretty staunch supporter of 343 up to this point, probably to a fault. This has been my first real complaint. Check my post history if you like, its just constructive criticism… pretty tame. You need to relax.

They definitely had rumble pit playable with your friends in Halo 3 and Reach. I played it with my friends all the time, and I would love to do it again!!!

My brother and I had a blast hunting each other down in social FFA in Halo 3. It’s disappointing that we can’t do that now. Sadly griefers gonna grief.
We don’t want to 1v1 each other so that’s not really a good solution for the issue.
Ranked FFA you could not, but you could in Rumble Pit.
Thats already part of the problem. You then create an unfair match for the rest if you don’t want to 1v1 your bud. That means you and your friend(s) have less enemies in that FFA matches then the other players. That is the whole problem and why it isn’t allowed.

I 100% agree! I remember being able to play Rumble Pit with friends and it was always just a competitive crap shoot between us. The second we all saw Rumble Pit was available we all got excited thinking we can finally play against each and have others in there to make a full game.
I understand they don’t want people teaming up to boost challenges, but can’t they just limit it where you can only have half the game be in one squad?
Then dont lock full events or almost half the weekly challenges behind a bad event. People cant even not play the event and try to get the regular weekly reward because of the way the poop challenge system is.
