Never wanted to go into FFA and because of challenges and that challenges are one of the main ways to level up in this game I had to experience playing this gametype and it proves that these two mechanics in Halo infinite need to be fixed and improved.
Radar’s range

It quite clear that we need the Radar back to the way it was in the first flights. Doesn’t have to be too overpowered but it needs a wider range. Too many times an enemy would be on top of you and you wouldn’t see them on your radar. In ranked this can be forgiving because there is no radar to begin with. So you have to be aware of your surroundings. Having no radar makes games frustrating with everyone’s mind set that if they get shot once they run away. Every game of ranked is to get the drop on your enemy 1st and if you get spotted or shot you must run and hide, making ranked as it always was a sweaty hide and seek game. Sometimes it can be fun for me but it’s usually annoying. Slayer on small maps with a radar that is pointless makes the games just like ranked. There’s no fun of running and gunning like we’re supposed to have in social. I think most people agree that the radar needs a little buff with its range.
Melee
This is straight up broken in infinite. With people zipping at you from across the map to smacking someone over and over again and they won’t die. 343 have always struggled with Melee with previous halos so this isn’t new to me but halo infinite is being made unplayable at close range because of this broken mechanic and people abusing it.
I have a idea of how melee should work out to stop these one hit kills with the bleedthrough mechanic with melee.
With no shots fired.
One smack puts shields from 100% to 50%
Second smack knocks your shields off
Third smack puts your health down to half
Fourth smack with half health and no shields will kill you.
All the above is with no shots fired and is a new way that I think would stop people abusing this melee bleedthrough mechanic that 343 has now at the moment.
Now melee is so bonkers I don’t know how 343 still have it like this in the game.
If you have 40% of shields left and take one smack it kills you!!!
Having no shields it takes 2 smacks to kill you!!!
This had been like this since the MP came out. You could see someone shoot them first knock their shields off and they would just rush you and melee you once and kill you. You popped their shields and you still had shields but you died instead. This has happend so many times it’s very broken.
I know I’m not the only one that experiences this because I’ve seen posts about it. One thing also that makes melee terrible is servers lag or dysnc. You would be spamming the melee button 5 times and only swing once but your enemy can swing at your twice in 1 second?
These two mechanics need to be fixed and tuned properly for fair gameplay and I hope 343 will address these mechanics soon.
