So I have not gotten a rank in FFA as I recently started playing Halo 5 again after a long break(so of that time I didn’t have a Xbox anymore). I’m 5 games in and so far in EVERY GAME I HAVE HAD 2+DIAMOND PLAYERS OR BETTER!!! The last game I just had 3 CHAMPION PLAYERS WITH THE RANK 88, 72, AND 68 CHAMPION. I liked having to play against these players as I got off to a soild start like 6-2. But I literally went on a spawn spree where I didn’t take 2 steps without dying and having no chance to fight back. It was grenade right when I spawned than one pistol headshot like seriously 7 times in a row(to tell the truth it was pretty frustrating out of the 7, 5 of the spawns where in the same spot at one point 3 in a row same spot)I’m not kidding either. I mean in my other playset I have diamond slayer and duos, duos recently dropped to plat 6 though playing solo. So I don’t mind playing high rank people but when it’s happening when u don’t have a rank and haven’t played a game of ffa in 2-3 years Im pretty sure everyone would have a small chance of winning. This is happening every match so far to, so it’s not a 1 time accordance. At this rate I’m 1/5 in wins maybe 3/5 top 3 if top 3 even matters in FFA idk but it’s looking like I’m going to get a really low start medal which I don’t think I deserve I’m thinking high silver or low gold and the lowest I have ever gotten was in doubles when I started at gold 5. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this ok with everyone? If so alright I guess but do you think it’s fair? I hope a dev or someone who works with 323 can respond plz and explain plz!! !! Thanks!

You’re in placement matches so the game is going to put you in a variety of skill leveled matches so it can determine where to place you. The other issue could be that the population is low so you’re going to be put in unbalanced skill matches because the higher ranks need to find a game. On the plus side, you aren’t going to lose much CSR since the game isn’t expecting you to win. If you go to your game history in your service record, you can copy and paste links to your games.

Also, if it’s FFA, don’t expect to even win 50% of your matches. FFA is a completely different beast. Call it 20% and that’s about average.
Even once you’re ranked in ffa, you’ll get a broad range of skill levels in each match due to low population in the playlist.
