FF Limited NEP - true genius

Ok, so whose genius idea was it to have Heretic Snipers and Heretic Heavy Elites in FF Limited NEP?

Now, don’t get me wrong, with a good teammate and a solid plan, it can be an intense couple of rounds, but most players are just going to get completely wiped out by these guys! And randomly! Why would you do that? Why would you just kick a gametype in the teeth when it’s already so rarely played?

sigh

p.s. When you save the gametype, and in-game as well, there is no indication that you’re playing the ‘NEP’ version - it just reads ‘FF Limited.’ Confusing when you end up having multiple saved gametypes called ‘FF Limited’ and ‘Arcadefight’ in your file browser.

EDIT:

How exactly does it make sense to go up against these enemies when you have overshields, rockets, infinite lives, infinite ammo and then go up against the same enemies when you have a DMR and 10 lives?

Woah, Heretics in Limited?

I thought they were going to stick exclusive to Arcade for the sake of them being a laugh.

Looks like I will be avoiding Limited NEP for now.

Ha! Goddamnit RC! I wanted to the first to post on this subject!

My thoughts mirror RC’s perfectly though I would expand them. 343, WTH? You give us back Limited with exactly the same base stats for Spartans, then you boot up the difficulty of the enemies we face? This is where Seth and Amy would step in with a “Really?! by Seth and Amy” segment on SNL. I faced several all-Elite rounds, both Heretic and non-Heretic varieties. You realize that non-Heretic Elites contain one Ultra per squad right? And at base stats, they will butt-ram you for hours? I had one great game where we got to the fourth wave of the first round then the Elites dropped and killed all three of us, then ripped through all but one life because the Elites SAT RIGHT ON TOP OF SPAWN THE ENTIRE TIME, basically kicking us to death within 5 seconds of spawning.

I’ve been saying all along something needed to be done to Limited before it’s brought back. If NEP is the way all FF gametypes are now, then 343, you REALLY need to do something. After the curiosity of the first week wears off, NO ONE WILL PLAY FF LIMITED EVER. The first thing I would do is increase Spartan movement and defenses (Shields and Health) by at least 20%. The given loadouts are fine, but only if we can actually move around and take more damage, especially if the Elites are just going to run straight at us and constantly kick and punch us. Maybe play with some difference in the actual loadouts after you try my above suggestion, just to see if you can find a nice balance. But seriously guys, I feel like NEP and Limited weren’t even play-tested. And that scares me.

RC & Moa, I will totally help to keep this thread sitting on the front page until someone from 343 pays attention.

That’s just plain evil.

They probably though that players wanted more of a challenge from FF, especially after the joke that is FF Arcade. However, they didn’t realize that the NEP wouldn’t mix well with the Limited version of FF.

FF Limited was challenging enough with the NEP, with Heretic Heavies, it is just a joke, all your lives will go within seconds.

It’s SLASO all over again lol.

Oh, dear.

They had the foresight to boost movement stats in BTB Heavies in light of the stronger opposition (tanks). It would probably have been prudent to do the same in Limited.

By this point, though, I’ll bet the silent majority has written Limited off as a lost cause. They’d need an entirely new set of settings, and a new name to go with it. FF Limited has been dead for a long time, both in name and in gameplay.

I can customize FF stats in customs, so why can’t 343 do the same for the gametype? I realize there’s backend stuff to examine, but I’d think that 343 can increase both movement speed and shield/health with ease.

Just played FF Limited NEP today…my opinion…Holy Christ…i didn’t even survive the first round…lost all my lives by the third wave of reinforcements.

Glad I didn’t have to experience the rage first hand.

Twas not fun, let me tell ya.

laughs Good Call.

Gonna have to give it a shot.

Pad your walls first.

Is this NEP thing in other firefight versions, or just in limited?

So people complained because Firefight was too easy (even in Limited) and now they’re given a challenge and it’s too hard?

The heretic snipers remind me of the Jackel Snipers from Halo 2 Legendary. I tried fighting them, but ended up getting sniped one second later.

I was excited for it’s return, and then I realized my teammates were disgustingly horrible. Thumbless even. Maybe it was lag, because mine was quite severe, (and I eventually lagged out), but we hadn’t even gotten through the second wave and almost all our lives were lost. I never died (honest), but it was disgusting how they died like grunts out there.

I don’t know, but firefight Limited is a bit too hard for these players. I love a challenge, but I find it hard to work with people who run out and get killed by plasma pistols…

Heretic Heavies and Snipers are the worst of all the waves but over all good on the update all you need to do now is bring Generator Defense back to protect it from the Covenant and we’re all good to go
