Hey guys, just offering a few helpful tidbits if you’re getting the new Halo 4 console.
I’m getting it by trading in my Reach console; if this is an option to you, and you’re on the fence, I’d highly recommend it. By bundling the Reach console, two controllers, and throwing in a few games (none of which I’m particularly attached to), I sold mine for $350.
Add that into the fact that I’m selling the copy of Halo 4 that comes with the console (I’ll just keep my LE edition which I already had preordered), And I’ll be getting both the LE edition and the console for roughly $110 out of pocket; very manageable for a college student like myself.
If you’re getting the console already, I HIGHLY recommend buying that stupid transfer cable that Xbox sells if you want to get your old data to the new Xbox. I know you can simply use the USB transfer method, but I ran into several problems doing this with the Reach Xbox that were quickly alleviated by using the cable. Its pretty cheap online, and it’ll make setup considerably easier. You’ll only use it once, but the time and effort saved is worth it.
Also, if this is your first wireless Xbox, make absolutely sure the first thing you do after you transfer your data is setup the wireless internet connection; it can cause a massive headache if you try to get online for the first time in the middle of playing a game.

I’d suggest doing the sale by yourself bud, 'cause any retailer is likely going to rip you off. I posted my bundle online, and it sold for $350 after about a day and a half. My listing was the console, two reach controllers, HDMI and original cables, and 5 games. I’m not saying you’ll get the same reaction, but it seriously made getting the Halo 4 console ridiculously easy. Very hard to beat a LE Console and LE Halo 4 for $110 out of pocket
Can’t I replace the console’s unused hard drive with my slim’s hard drive with all of my info, or is that transfer cord advice just for those who have not yet received an xbox slim?

I believe you can, my advice was just for the people who are upgrading to a slim for the first time

I see. Well with that being said; Take Echo’s advice! If you don’t use that cable, you will be risking losing some of your save game data (that is what I did) and trust me, it is NOT fun worrying about that for an hour while your data is transferred!

Amazon all the way. I think its like 8 bucks? Don’t quote me on that, but either way it shouldn’t be more than ten. Definitely worth it considering the hassle it will save you

Oh, and make sure to include the hard drive as part of the “deal” you mention online, quite a few people forget how much memory the Reach Console has. Putting it in the title makes it look ever better
