Now, I don’t know for sure that there are no female spartans in the game, but seeing as they’ve yet to be shown in any trailers or gameplay and now two months away from release in a flight where we are suppose to check out and give feedback on customization options and unlocks they are still nowhere to be seen outside of voice options that are currently locked for players I’d have to assume they’ve been excluded from the game. My post isn’t about representation or anything this is just my perspective. I’m not the type of person that sees myself in my characters (though I suppose any women who do are out of luck here) I just like to be able to create an attractive character that I can enjoy customizing and for me that would mean a female. If I can’t create a character that I want than I’ve no interest in customizing them, and if I have no interest in customization what reason do I have to buy your battle pass? You guys at 343 are obviously free to make this game however you want and if that means leaving out female character models that’s fine. However, I’m not going to speak for everyone else but I’m not that original either I think it’s safe to say I’m not the only one with this opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I will be playing this game when it comes out as I really do enjoy the gameplay even if it could still use a little work, but I’ll save that for another post. What I’m saying though is that even though I like the game I currently don’t care about your customization, which means that there is nothing for me to work towards unlocking and I can really foresee that effecting the longevity of the interest I have in this game. I do hope I’m wrong and that once the game launches and we can go to spartan ID and change gender from male to female it will also change those three very clearly male body options to three very clearly female body options. If I’m right though and there are no female models in the game I do hope you reconsider.
Probably overlooked because its just the beta, no doubt in my mind infinite will have female spartans on release. It’s elites they need to bring back
Yeah I second this opinion as far as customization goes it feels lacking.
The issue is that the armor covers 95% of what you would see a difference in, because male and female Spartans have very little height difference when in armor, at most an inch or two which is hard to see when they’re sprinting around at blazing speeds. Plus the armor is so bulky now because of the design of it that the only way to see what the gender is is to hear them speak or look at their midsection which will be thinner than a males.

I hope your right and I do agree on elites. Hopefully there will be an elite themed battle pass somewhere down the road. They are still going to have to add basic things like coop and forge post launch so I don’t see why they can’t add these things to the list.

I agree that armor covers a lot but I can still see their neck, arms, torso, hips, and -Yoink-. there is still a fair amount of undersuit showing which is skin tight and no amount of armor fitted to a skin tight suits is going to hide basic anatomy.
Has anyone tried all the voices yet, are any more clearly female?
Bodies make sense to me being like they are. Maybe final game will have more but female Spartans are huge!

Then I’m sure you noticed that you could in fact change the gender? It’s not just male only like CE, 2, and 3. They just don’t call it ‘gender’, for some stupid reason they went the route of The Division 2 calling it ‘body types’. You have neutral, ‘female’, and ‘male’ (which looks exactly like neutral imo).

The bots in training mode have female voices so I’m just assuming they made them available for players yet

Ah lovely jubbly, I haven’t been able to play with headphones but not sure I would have noticed that even if I was. Thank you!

I’ve seen the slider that was the point I made in the original post. All of the options look male, even the thinnest one just looks like Master Chief from Halo 2. I was hoping that those were three options for male body type and hopefully they’ll add three options for female when you change gender in spartan id.
My female and trans friends don’t mind the non-descript body options, but they do wish that they could choose their spartans voice, so hopefully we can at least get that option. (they won’t talk on the forums, so I might as well voice their desires for them).
It is really dumb how there is no actual female model. That’s 2021 for you though.

Well, like I said in the original post not everyone is trying to see themselves in their character. I just want to be able to create an attractive character that I can enjoy customizing otherwise what is the point in customization and by extension buying any battle passes. That said though even the male models aren’t that great we’ve got a dad bod and anorexic, doesn’t exactly scream Spartan to me. As for voice though the bots in training mode have female voices so its safe to say that you will be able to change them once they unlock spartan id at launch.
With all the augmentation Spartans get, are there really any male or female Spartans?? Their drivers license probably says “Spartan” when describing -Yoink!- or gender or what-have-you. (Just a light hearted comment, don’t get all riled up)
Really, the best way to showcase a female would be with the Spartan chatter, but you never hear your own Spartan. The armor covers all the physical characteristics, and nobody wants bikini mjolnir.
We’re out there, but the voices have been separated from body type selection, which as someone who’s transgender (even if I do opt for femme voice+body, because… I HAVE that), I really appreciate being an option for those that don’t got that going on.
But it did bug me that the option wasn’t one I could toggle, this flight. Like idk why that option wasn’t toggle-able.

That option does exist, just for, some reason, not this flight.

Good to hear, thanks.
