Complete agree. Compare both models from side on and you’ll see how ridiculous it is…
4 was anorexic and now 5 went overboard with it, again 343, this is one of the few things Reach did right. 
I think the female Spartans are fine. Not giant hipped and clapping booty like in reach, but not stick figure like in 4.
What exactly is wrong with the female Spartan model?

They are just as much there as in H5, now I personally don’t view either as sexualised but none the less if this is your concern you can not cite HR.

I need to look at a comparison video.
All muscles in the Spartan enhancements were enhanced, including the glutenous maximums.
I think they are just trying to differentiate between the genders. It’s not necessary. Halo 3 had gender options but that only changed the voice which implied that 900lbs of armor was enough to hide the gender.
Same with in the books–the early ones and even in Kilo-Five–Naomi takes her helmet off specifically to show Jul 'Mdama that he was bested by a female human … for some reason. Keye’s observed that it was only the mannerisms of the Spartans that allowed him to differentiate between who was whom.
So canonically, they really should look the same and simply have gender-specific voices.
On the other side of the coin, remember the backlash when Ubisoft announced that the Assassins in AC Unity’s co-op mode could only be male?
I think the problem is then how do you create a female character model for a super-soldier wearing 900lbs of armor and make it visually a female without certain features needing to be … well, being exaggerated?
Go back to one spartan model with customize-able armor and gender setting that only affects the voice? Or … be all about that bass?
Unless just narrowing the shoulders, widening the hips and using slightly less-bulky armor would work.
Also, to be fair, my male Spartan wears the ODST (Nightfall) armor, and he’s got a plump little dumper as well, so maybe they just like butts.

before reach, they weren’t, in fact in canon, a female spartan in armour was impossible to tell apart from a male spartan in armour…
reach started it and 343 is intent on ocntinuing it…
