I’m doubtful that this post will be seen, but I wanted to share anyways.
Over the past few years I’ve been starting to feel unwelcome in 343’s Halo Community.
I’m sure Unyshek is a nice guy, but some of the things he posts feel to me like they are making fun of the complaints people have about the games. I’m a bit disappointed to feel that kind of divisiveness coming from a community manager. It seems like he is the pro/sports community manager, but doesn’t welcome everyone.
Removing the Halo Forums removes one of the key ways that I interact with Halo. I often come on here, learn about something, then look it up, or watch it elsewhere. I engage and post, but I also get inspired and go play. I’ve looked at the alternatives on Discord, etc., and I just don’t like that kind of engagement.
With no campaign in the near future, and a parent company focused on cosmetics and mtx over story and campaign, I feel like losing the waypoint forums will change my relationship with Halo. After these forums die tomorrow I don’t think I’ll be very likely to play Halo Infinite anymore, and I don’t feel that I will be welcome in the Halo community as I once was.
I will always have a special place in my heart for this game, and I’ve enjoyed sharing that mutual passion with you all over the years.
