All maps are roughly the same size and shape, with a handful of outliers… and STILL… where are classic modes?? Oddball and KOTH are STILL nowhere to be found! Ricochet has a ton of potential in this game, and again, nowhere to be found!

If those are things they wanted to do, they could easily do them and still make helmets at the same time, it’s not like the helmet budget drained all the resources … they could do both, is what I’m saying. I have a feeling that, at this point, all those people are probably working on Halo 6 and hopefully applying all the lessons learned from Halo 5 to those maps. That game is expected to launch holiday 2018, so they have a little over a year and a half, and each title is expected to be bigger and better than the last and we don’t want a “should have been there at launch” fiasco again and “add the this, that, and the other thing from Halo’s x,y, & z to Halo 6! Shoulda been there at launch!” because we expect every Halo game to be a turducken of all previous games combined.

> Right… but when you take the entirely of rehashed content in the game, how much of that time and money could’ve been used to develop more worthwhile additions to the game? So this duplication allowed for a cheap means to generate more money for 343… allow for donations for quality new maps? Fans that care will pay… and WZ players will continue to buy REQ’s for WZ weapons.

> The REQ unlock system needs to be redesigned in terms of what kinds of content is made available. 5th iterations of visors of helmets and cosmetics are just flat out unacceptable. If it’s about cosmetics, do skins and armor skins for a more streamlined pool of armor, do not physically duplicate armor. That is poor design. The armor selection screen is a cluttered mess.

> Above all, gameplay first… condense the vision on map design, allow for dev made BTB maps to double over as WZ maps, 8v8, or to compromise 10v10 max, to keep the maps from being too ridiculously big for BTB, and focus on diversifying the Arena map pool like traditional Halo titles. Keep the 4v4 theme, but allow for some maps to vary in size and shape, to better support Multi-team or 5v5 games, and some to be versatile enough for small 2v2 games. Segment some maps, open up others… offer a mix.
I’m not saying you’re wrong … personally, I’d like the REQ system gone. People keep saying it’s a necessary evil and it needs to be there to compete with other titles and that 343’s way has been less detrimental to the gameplay than other systems, but I still don’t like it. I guess it’s better than the paid map packs we used to get since this way doesn’t divide the population or add DLC playlists.
What I’m saying is, at this point in Halo 5’s lifespan, I don’t expect to see anymore major updates to the game or any new maps, just little things here & there to boost the purchasing of REQs or keep folks playing by dangling a carrot on a stick (like we’re getting Thursday) or playlist changes. They should have made changes to the maps ages ago (some they did, like Pegasus and a few BTB maps, but it didn’t go far enough). But I don’t think the little things we’re going to see from here on out are in lieu of major or important changes because those who would be making those changes are working on Halo 6. Again, this is just my speculation. I think Monitor’s Bounty was the last big update, but I could be wrong.
