I didn’t even notice that tbh. I don’t think it made a significant difference. The BP sells itself, honestly, by having almost nothing for free players. I don’t actually take issue with that aspect because the content for the price is more than fair.

Bout thst gold visor recent post on Twitter which does say a change to progession is coming (ie a challenge that’s just play 1 game and it’s like that for good) and some weekly challenges will be removed however doing this resets the progress on the visor challenge but here’s the best part from nov 23 to the 30th Anton that logs in during that week gets the sigal visor for free

Think you’re probably right. I would love for 343 to invite some members of the public to play the game in front of them and set them with 4 challenges, let’s say 1 for game mode wins win a game mode that’s hardly ever in rotation, 2 weapon specific challenges, 1 vehicle challenge.
How long do you reckon it would take for the devs to go crazy watching them trying to complete those challenges?
Is it actually the case the weekly unlocks won’t rotate back around? Or is that assumption?
They have not stated anything on the matter. I’m sure that eventually when they stop supporting the game, they will either come back on rotation or will be released for everyone.
Either way, handcrafted challenges would be far better
That’s gonna be 10 years from now. I would probably bank on weekly unlocks going to the store at some point, at least one would hope if they miss the challenges.
According to 343i, “there will only be one way to unlock any piece of equipment.”
But then, they say a lot of things.
So late Wednesday night I finally finished 20 weekly challenges and then the additional one. That’s after playing a lot (I’ve been off work this week).
I didn’t keep track of how many challenge swaps I had to use but it must have been over a dozen.
I kinda feel relief that it’s over and now I can safely play another game or take a break from gaming for a bit. I probably shouldn’t feel like that.
When we make this update, we’ll need to reset your Challenges, including your progress towards Weekly ones. To make up for this reset, we’ll be granting this week’s Ultimate Reward, the Sigil Mark VII Visor, to everyone who logs in from Nov 23 - Nov 30.

Yes, the challenges are far too specific. One awful one I’ve seen someone get is to get 3 kills with arc chain lighting.
They need the challenges to be far more generic. Remove anything that requires a specific weapon, vehicle, damage type, or game mode to be involved. Stuff like getting melee kills, headshots, splatters, wins, ANY objective medals, assists etc like MCC. Just stuff you’ll automatically do while playing so you can focus entirely on the game and not trying to track down rare scenarios or use weapons you don’t like.
Play around walls, punch them once, hit them into the wall. I only had to do it once, not 5 times, but it wasn’t too bad. They have to be pretty severely damaged.
I don’t think you’ve understood what we’re talking about in this topic. It’s about the weekly ultimate reward, not battle pass progression (there’s plenty of time for that).
So we need to clear all 20 weekly challenges this week to get it before it changes to something else hence the FOMO.
Looks like there’s been a change on this already though thankfully.

It’s interesting to read some of the replies between different posts.
343 knows as any other company knows what they are doing when they set up the “FOMO”. To lie and say they didn’t want that but it’s clear as day that that is what this whole setup is, to get players to “throw money at the screen”. I’m actually upset because this is the BS direction games are headed these days.
Make the grind miserable so they will give in… this usually applies to the kids/teens that fall for the nonsense, and to make promises later to “fix” things is actually an insult when they have had the knowledge and experience to make a decent ranking system in the first place. This playing dumb as if how things are set up now wasn’t intentional kind of pisses me off…
It’s at the point that games are not even worth buying anymore unless it’s a single-player game like Zelda for example. To where I feel I’m getting actual content and something that is worth playing, not just words coming out of a companies mouth of “what I’ll be paying for” when their priority is to promote a stupid shop.
That’s what had me worried about these hard challenges. I refuse to pay for challenge swaps though and have spent more time back on mcc. The mcc challenges are attainable and make me want to invest my time.
But it is a race. Not only that but many challenges can’t be completed passively, for example I have a challenge to hit 5 enemies with a single shock chain. The only feasible way to get that would be to hope the enemy team fill up a Tesla Truck™️ and I happen to be see it with a Shock Rifle. This is not a situation that would organically occur.

It might be only a visor (which is now being given away free anyway) but quite a few people want to be able to unlock everything otherwise they feel like they are missing out on content.
Knowing, or fearing, that you may only have one opportunity to get something can be a powerful motivator.
Just as easily as some people can say it’s just a visor, to other people it’s very important. If there were no value in items like these then 343 wouldn’t make you have to jump through hoops in order to get it.
