Feel like you are fighting the aiming?

No really the aiming in this game is broken, or i just do not understand it. One day I will string perfect kills together like there is no tomorrow, the next day I can hit the side of fence and feels almost as if my reticle is not going where i want it to. Anyone else feel the same?

Have you played around with your aim acceleration and deadzones? If you haven’t they may help but no guarantee. I agree tho the aiming in this game can be a pain.

I have to some extent, at this point I’m afraid to make it worse lol

All I can really say is keep playing around untill you find the one setting that best suits you. As I said tho even then it can still be an issue. There are videos on YouTube that can better explain h5s aim than I ever can, i recommend watching them to get a good understanding of how they work. Other than that maybe another way pointer can join in and explain it better than me. From what I understand tho the more you push your thumb stick it eventually speeds up so fast to where you’ll over correct on your shots.

Halo 5 aiming feels like what I expected games that are played through streaming tech to be. It’s obviously not as bad the latency you’d get there, but whatever it is, I just can’t get good at it the aiming no matter how much I play. Perhaps a better way would be to say that I almost feel in control but never confidently so like I was in previous Halo games.

Whatever 343 has done means some people will definitely suffer where previously they’re normally able to dive straight in. And that should be a concern to 343 because a good portion of those will frustrating move on. I’ve stuck with it but plenty wont and it’s easy to see why

I think it’s in the game’s programming. The H2 BR works perfectly well, I’m guessing it still has the same aim assist and bullet magnetism algorithms of it’s original version from H2.

Since the H2 BR works perfectly, this tells me all the other aim issues are specifically programmed into the weapons.

I believe that, cause with the light rifle its a 3 head shot kill. I swear that the third shot is right on my opponents head, and 90% of the time it wont register as a head shot for me.

suddenly yesterday, my aim went horribly wrong, the stick could not hold steady. I have been recalibrating stick profiles, and accelerations, again! Weird.

The theory is that it is somewhat server-related… If the guy seems to be at “X” location but is actually at “Y”, well… yeah.

Aiming seems rather inconsistent in Halo 5. I’ll be playing SWAT one day, make around 90% of headshots. Next match, I miss the head around 70% of the time and sometimes miss my enemy altogether.

Can someone explain the Dead-zone settings to me?

Basically if your controller doesnt drift (look left or right on its own) than set them both to 0%

Could you post your settings please. Turn your horizontal down low. I currently play on 1 horizontal, 3.5 vertical, 2 look acceleration, and 0 inner and 0 outer. What I found is that low works best for me.

That doesn’t explain much…

Try this for a better explanation and guide on how to set your deadzones.

These settings seem to give me the best results. just got done playing and I was hitting most shots

Sens 3
look accel 2
toggle crouch off
vibration on
Inner and outer dead zones at 0%

H5 is the only halo that i’ve had a aiming crisis in lol, but i think i found my sweet spot:

Sens: 5
Acc: 3
Vibe off
Inner zone: 0
Outter zone: 3

You should also have your vibration off. I takes time getting used to but it will help you in the long run.

I finally settled on the sensitivity 4 and acceleration 2 settings with close to zero deadzones. I think I prefer the 360 controller though, little more resistance in the sticks.

Maybe I can argue for an Elite controller for my anniversary coming up here…

Halo 5 has less auto aim than past Halos, except for HaloCE, so the aiming is tough.

My advice is to lower your sens to 2 or 3, zero deadzones, and accel to 3-5 depending on how much close combat you do.

Lower sens helps mid-long range shooting a ton, especially with low auto aim weps like the pistol and light rifle.

It feels like it has more lol
